Purely co-incidence, I'm sure -- some poor RUS national there to see the churches, no doubt ....

That said, French protesters from both ends of the political spectrum can be pretty damned good at co-ordinating national actions. Foreign assist? Who knows? But not impossible on their own, too.

Could be more than one group either acting independently or in loose coordination.
 
Russian sponsored regardless - but generally the various French anti-gov factions don't play well together - as they all have different views on how to make the world burn.
Potential more than zero, though, if they agree to the "how do we make it burn the brightest for a bit?" before they have to decide on who wins? :)

It is interesting that a lot of the other infrastructure attacks in France have gone relatively under reported.
