What are you listening to/fav type of music

Operation Mincemeat is a West End musical comedy, now on Broadway, about one of the stranger true stories of the second world war, where a corpse was sent ashore in Spain to divert the German Army from Sicily.

In the second act, one of the characters is asked to help build the back story of the fake persona of the corpse, and wrote him a letter. And so, channelling her love for her fiance who died in the Great War, she spills out her heart in "Dear Bill".

This is the composer performing it at Studio 54 in NYC.

@dapaterson That bardcore cover is amazing, thanks!

The Johnny Cash one is mindblowing, and probably one of the few times the cover was much better than the original. The pain in his voice was palpable.

The idea of Johnny Cash rocking out to the original NIN version is awesome as well.

I am on an Operation Mincemeat kick right now. If you're familiar with the true story (idea #28 from a memo drafted by James Bond creator Ian Fleming, dropping a corpse off the coast of Spain to distract the Germans from Sicily), this song from the musical is just before the end of the first act, introducing the crew of HMS Seraph through a sea shanty.
