The NDP will rebound eventually. The lure of making everyone "equal" is too strong an attraction for weak jealous people NOT to make it rebound.
Wonder if these meet the wantOn the NDP leadership race

It's not just that they want everyone to be equal, they want to be the first among equals.
Interesting in the one article to see my friend Tony McQuail is considering running for leadership of the NDP. He is a good, sensible man (a retired farmer) and he could steer the party away from radicals. I am not sure he is ready for the cutthroat of politics. I will call him later and see what he is thinking.Wonder if these meet the want

Tom Mulcair tried to do that and got stabbed in the back for his efforts to make the party relevant.Interesting in the one article to see my friend Tony McQuail is considering running for leadership of the NDP. At some point in the not too distant future I can see a potential leader for any one of the parties telling the special interest groups:Is he a cis male from a non-equity seeking group?

"Go piss up a rope" or words to that effect.
But the CPC seemingly want (under current management) to be that NDP of the right.I have to wonder if the Right would be better off if the PPC morphed into a right wing version of the NDP. A place for those "outcasts" to feel at home. Meanwhile allowing the Conservatives to move to a more centre right position.
Not in the slightest are they that far right. For decades they have allowed their fringe to have a voice and let democracy choose a more centrist direction. The NDP and until recently the LPC gave the levers of policy creation to the far left. But the CPC seemingly want (under current management) to be that NDP of the right.

Same thing happened to most of the major unions as well. The problem is that the people who make up the inner workings of all political parties are dominated by fringe and special interest groups. They're the ones primarily motivated to get involved to that degree.
Those of us who form the moderate centre are simply to busy working for a living or, unfortunately, simply unmotivated to get heavily involved.
As a result we tend to vote for the least offensive party or the one that lies the best to us and pretends to have our interest at heart. Sometimes we even get tossed a bone.

There is something wonky going on with the Conservatives. I was recently contacted to contribute to the Conservatives but I asked apparently an awkward question. I stated that Katy Telford and Gerry Butts delivered four Liberal Governments and left. Jenny Byrne lost four elections but is still there and I would not contribute until she goes. Stammer, stammer uhhh, well uhhhBut the CPC seemingly want (under current management) to be that NDP of the right.
