18 Aug 2025: Poilievre/By-election in Battle River–Crowfoot (AB)

Based on what? There's no signs point to that right now, and anyone think Pierre wouldn't take a huge win in BRC is on Crack. Though gotta credit and independent for getting 9.5%
His handling of the Air Canada strike isn't a good look so far. He's had a few missteps that may bite him in the long run.

No matter what you think of Carney, at least we have an adult as PM. Too bad other countries still see the damage the man child did and just put up with what Canada thinks.
Being an adult is faint praise. There's plenty of adults who are nothing but narcissistic, self serving assholes. There's also a number of countries that are far from enamoured with Carney. Personally, I see little difference between carney and his puppet trudeau.

So this is on Bonnie Critchley (and noting how MSM gives her lots of air time)

My thoughts on Bonnie
-She was a legit independent candidate (She had nothing to do with longest ballot BS)
-She campaigned and she did so aggressively (Good on her for fighting for it)
-Unfortunately for her, she did not win but did impressive for an independent (again good on her)

However this attack post by election is a little bit like sour grapes it seems to me. If she is wanting to go head to head with Pierre in next election I suggest
-Have a better and improved campaign position (not just stop Pierre because lets face it, BRC choose him)
-Don't go on the offensive right away, it looks very bitter and petty. Give Pierre time to get back in the house and then criticize legit points you don't agree with
-If your serious about running again, pull apart his and Carney's policies and explain how you can fight for better on each point, and as a independent, you have no party loyalty to balance with the needs of the riding
-Next time don't say "I don't even want to be here..." I suspect that line costed her some votes.

…aaaaand there it is.

Get ready to hear the Conservatives’ thoughts on establishing legislation on restricting abortion.

As always, let's remember that "what the membership wants" =/= "what the leader wants" =/= "what the leader'll do."

That said, prepare for every syllable to be scrutinized, for sure.

And then next election the CPC will wonder what went wrong after party members reaffirmed their confidence in Poilievre and he didn’t whip the caucus to avoid putting forth any private members bills to legislate restrictions to abortions in Canada…wash, rinse, repeat.

I don’t give Trudeau much credit for anything positive, but when asked about abortions in Canada, he pointed out that while he has his own personal views as a practicing Roman Catholic, his party affirm(ed)s that on the whole, Canadians have routinely affirmed their position position that they don’t want government legislating abortion.

True dat - the high wire act continues.

It's pretty crazy to think the CPC is neck and neck with the LPC in polling, with an unpopular leader.

Imagine if they could get their shit together and get one people liked...
