3 RCR transfers to the Light Infantry Regiment

Given that there are no new PYs, curious to know where they will take the PYs from for the Regimental HQ (CO, RSM, Adjt, Orderly Room Clerks, etc) as well as the Admin Coy personnel. Someone, somewhere will be losing positions.

IOC for the LIR HQ is only like 30 PYs. The BNs already exist. And there will be PY growth, FY 28 (not sure if its 27/28 or 28/29, because the presentation only says 28) will have a growth of 400 PYs in the RCIC.

To be clear the new LIR is not a regiment in the sense of it having a CO, RSM, Adjt or an Admin Coy.

The LIR is a formation with a Commander and a staff organized around G code functions G1-9 the same as our existing Bdes.

I don’t believe any of those positions currently in the LIR are new Full Time Employment positions, they are still reallocated ones.

Much of the growth that is being briefed by the various Corps and Branches is what they and Army are submitting for consideration and approval. The numbers aren’t yet approved by the VCDS and CMP.
For example this FY my understanding is the CA asked for an increase in authorized FTE of approx 450 positions. It was authorized approx 70, all in the individual training space.

All that to say the Army’s growth might be more constrained than the Corps briefings would like.
