It got a collective yawn from the world. The Carl Vincennes shooting down flight 655 and lack of world outrage was viewed as a key reason that Iran realized that Iraq could continue to gas Iran to the end of the earth and no one cared, leading to the Iranian acceptance of the Iraqi peace terms.




No, I’m not suggesting that shooting down Iran Airlines aircraft is a viable option.

But I’m also skeptical about the current administration’s moral compass.

Iran wants to speak at the UN, but can't get there if they can't fly there? US Says "go talk to UN", then blocks their airline from getting fuel.

Seems like a stupid way to run a country.

I would say shoot down any Iranian airliner/aircraft flying to Yemen and make a very public notice that you will do so. They have no pressing need to go there.
