    Army Courses List

How about course list for those of us lowly soldiers who aren't at the pointy end.  Keep getting asked by CoC what courses i'd like...but there's no funkin information readily available to us.

Where should the monuments come home to?

Its the Taliban...i think they will deface it differently then some unruly drunken teenagers...BIG difference, I didn't think I needed to explain something so utterly simple to fellow grown ups.

What's the food like on course? (BMQ, DP, ect...) [Merged]

not debating that, but you need more then JUST carbs, if anything i'd say we as a society are over-dependant on carbs. Especially when you take into consideration that out of the 3 macros they are the least satiating.

    Can you do BMQ twice?

So you're saying they (pers without PLQ) don't do BMOQ from Week 1? That makes more sense.

    Can you do BMQ twice?

MJP: thanks for that, that covers those pers, but again whats so different about BMOQ that someone with say 5-10yrs of service (for sake of argument no PLQ) decides to go to school and get a commission and they have to learn to salute, how to do drill, make theibed all over gain and be treated...

    Interesting Article about Army Strength

ArmyRick:i totaly disagree with your guestimate of the avg sizes/weights, considering I work in clothing, I KNOW/SEE the sizes of most of these cats, to be honest, infantry and armoured are on avg the smallest. I'm talking they avg 130-150 tops, the bigger and/or jacked guys tend to be in tech...

What's the food like on course? (BMQ, DP, ect...) [Merged]

As an athlete and someone who's trained others (athletically), and has been into the nutrition/health/fitness studie/sector, yes i agree food is fuel.  BUT just like fuel for our cars have QUALITY so to does food.  By your argument (the person saying FOOD is FOOD no matter what) a bag of...

Where should the monuments come home to?

Fact of the matter is that, the enemies in those conflicts were ACTUALLY civilized (to a degree) militaries (with uniforms, governments, rules etc), not just a rag tag bunch of "religious" zealots trying to eradicate everything WESTERN. These people crashed planes loaded with innocent civilians...

    Can you do BMQ twice?

This makes me wonder about a similar but not altogether exact situation. What about the personnel with 5-15yrs in the NCM field, who then go CRF/UTP/SCP etc...why make them do basic over completely even if it is the officer version, why make them re-learn drill, how to make their bed...

What's the food like on course? (BMQ, DP, ect...) [Merged]

Agreed, not trying to criticize the cooks on this, but honestly can say that's one of the worst steaks i've ever had in my life, and what bothers me the most is that horribly cut of meat, where half the damn thing is grissle. I think it differs per person, i've found a lot of people feed their...

THE FIRST (& SECOND) WORLD WAR(S), BAR FIGHT VERSION

So in my haste I pressed 2 instead of 1 while typing, sue me, we were in both wars eitherway, and played significant roles at that. I'd say NOT mentioning Canada in WW1, is worse then not mentioning them in ww2, because popular historical opinion is that THAT is where we really made our mark...

THE FIRST (& SECOND) WORLD WAR(S), BAR FIGHT VERSION

You fuzzy on your history?  Last time I checked Canada was in WW2.

    Logistics Cap Badge

I'm curious how it does now work on the peak cap? Log is the ONLY branch i've seen that wears a metal cap badge on the peak cap...Deck Dept (anchor) INT, etc...all wear cloth badges on the peak cap...so why can't log one work ?  I've had to wear a metal one, and wow am I glad we don't in this...

tie strings & the fit of combat uniforms (Split: Need for a new Army dress uniform)

Its possible, but not due to staff, due to lack of sizes. I'm also not a typical shape, I've got quite a V-taper, with close to a 50in chest, and bout 36 waist, and I stand 5'9.  the sleeves are as long as they need to be, and the stitching for the shoulders is also where its supposed to be. So...

tie strings & the fit of combat uniforms (Split: Need for a new Army dress uniform)

The empire waist is supposed to do that, BUT what we have in our shirts is not an empire waist. As well as the shirt not being baggy enough for the proper effect, if thats what they were going for.

tie strings & the fit of combat uniforms (Split: Need for a new Army dress uniform)

Personally speaking the bottom string is even more useless then the ribcage one.  Not to mention it gets caught up or ripped out in the wash more often then not. Personally I use the upper torso pockets, for phone, pens, notepad, etc...but I rarely (read never unless i'm out of room) put stuff...

tie strings & the fit of combat uniforms (Split: Need for a new Army dress uniform)

Ya i feel you on that, bout the combat shirt/jacket (whatever you prefer) can anyone tell me why the draw string in the middle is soooooo damn high...why do I need a string to sinch my shirt, over my RIBCAGE?

    Running

You haven't seen it because the military CAN'T wrap its head around the idea that you can do more then run or ruckmarch, so there's an over-emphasis on that. I have seen 3 RCR do it though, they have the tires on the lawn of their building. Like I said, I think the PT SHOULD be...
