Former members will have to pay a fee for their medal. $10.00 I believe. Correct me please if I'm wrong. Any former member may apply. The Army Cadet Service Medal was originally five years. It has since been lowered to four with a clasp for every subsequent year.

Correct. Bisley does go atop the left breast pocket. Para would be worn above the Bisley badge. Red leaf only on the Para badge. The officer stripes were 1 for Lt, 2 for Capt, 3 for Major and 4 for Lt Col. Lt Col was used at camps but did occur from time to time at units. The fitness badge...
I noticed that abseiling and rappelling are not listed. Both have always been a great and challenging experience for me in cadet land. The helicopter skid on the abseil tower is treacherous but fun!! Just thought I'd add those for consideration. You will need to have an abseil instructor on...
It has been my experience as well that acting ranks in cadet land can be given to find out what the cadet is made of. If they are the right person for a job or position. The CO can remove any rank up to and including WO without D Cadets getting involved. I have used this method to test cadets...
Lexi,
Pride is a dish served best with humility. You got it bang on and that is why you are now a CPL. If you continue to work hard you will continue to excel. Good luck in the future and congrats about your annual and your award.
Cheers!

There are indeed only the 2 provinces that don't have Nov 11th as a general holiday. It really is too bad it has not yet been changed to a holiday. I can agree that some would not use the holiday as intended, but what about all those who would? I will be at the cenotaph either way.

If the deceased soldier has authorized the use of their organs for other soldiers then I have no problem with it whatsoever. In fact I think it's an excellent idea. Organ donation cards are clumsy though. How about an addition to the dog tags??

As stated by Squadron CO, the article in the latest Cadence magazine states that there will be a working in period where some candidates will take the courses to evaluate course effectiveness before implementation. It looks like you may have been one of the Guinea pigs. No offense. I hope...
OK so I took a look around the web and found this article on a Detroit site. I have provided the link. After all the data was compiled, Don Cherry is RIGHT. "French Guys" and Europeans do wear a larger % of visors than other players. Heres the link...
A moving tribute and deservedly so. :cdn: LEST WE FORGET :cdn: Attending a ceremony in a small town North of Toronto tomorrow. This is my first remembrance parade of this year. The link above carries a great message. Here's to all those who came before. :salute:
And heres to all those...
I like the split. It makes it easier to navigate and find what I'm looking for. Thanks again for all the great resources on this site.

Don Chery is:
Canadian
A lover of the game of hockey
A TV host and personality
A man
Former hockey player and coach
The people who tune to his show are expecting to hear something that is loud, perhaps crude and pro Canadian. I was not surprised by his comment about the % of Europeans and...
If I had to pick a group of "PRO" athletes who play for the love of the game it would have to be the National Lacrosse League. Most if not all of the players have other full time jobs so they can make the rent. Now there is a group of people who play because they truly love the game.

In what other job can you make $375000.00US for 82 days of work with no previous job history with that employer?? That's the max that a rookie can make in their debut year. I'll be lucky if I make that in the next 15 years. I don't blame the owners for locking out the players. The salaries...
I appreciate you passing it on CFN. Orange. I'll find the pics and post 1 or 2. If you still want more then you can pm me and I can email them

Ditto Jungle. I can't believe this guy and his refusal to give a VETERANS group a flag. They fought for our (and his) freedom and he needs to give his bucket a shake and check the rocks for holes. Just my 2 cents. :cdn: LEST WE FORGET :cdn:

Hello all. As a cadet in the 90's I was part of a joint operation to build a 44m foot bridge under the direction of the 2nd Field Engineers Militia from Toronto. The build took place at the Ken Reid Conservation Area near Lindsay Ontario. Just wanted to update those who participated in the...
