    Wearing of Medals Questions

Of course, I not be the smartest by times, but I am certainly not an idiot like Lance Armstrong.  Here is my citation from the GG's website, http://www.gg.ca/honour.aspx?id=90&t=10&ln=Casey If you want, I can show you the picture, I just wasn't sure if I should post it on here When I get home...

    Wearing of Medals Questions

Unless something has changed since I was awarded my MMV in 2011, there is no mini medal included in the package after the ceremony. All that was in my package was the fancy box for the medal, one ribbon, a lapel pin and the large citation signed by the GG. Congrats! The ceremony is an amazing time!

BEW inserts- will CF pay for class A members

I just wanted to add to my previous post in reference to what I said about being on a navy base and not knowing the answer to the question.  Pers in the navy, unless they were deployed to Afghanistan, do not get issued BEW and/or inserts and therefore we don't have much dealings in that regard. ...

BEW inserts- will CF pay for class A members

Recceguy - I apologize for not reading your response correctly and my bad typing, I was still at work and doing two or three things at once and I made the mistake and for that I apologize dapaterson - That I don't know the answer for, the only reservists we get that need inserts for their BEW's...

BEW inserts- will CF pay for class A members

A reservist over 180 days of class B or class C service is entitled to the same benefits under the Spectrum of Care that the Reg Force are entitled to.  Under 180 days, a Class A reservist is only entitled to limb/life-threatening injury/illness while on duty.  Other than that, they fall under...

    Miniature Medals..

Hello everyone, I have searched through the forums and tried all the websites that I have found listed.  I am looking for a place that sells miniature medals, specifically the MMV.  I know it is rarer one, supply doesn't even have the ribbon for it and wasn't able to tell me where to start...

How NOT to Ask for Help, or Private Davidson's Woeful VAC Journey

From my experience with VAC and with dealing with service members at my clinic who have pensions or are in the process of trying to get a pension, I will give you one bit of advice.  The tables are there to show people applying for pensions what the information is they use.  They are at the...

    Driver Positions in Afghanistan?

And the combat operation is winding up and will be over within a month.  The thousand or so Canadians that are staying are going up north to be in a mentor/trainer role.

CT Offer & Posting Information & Problematic Circumstances

Its crazy how many people get married in Vegas.  I'm not in the middle of a posting or enrollment, I've been in for 10 years, but its interesting to know that so many people go to Vegas.  My fiance and I are going there at the end of Sept to get married as well! We have family coming and wanted...

    Periodic Health Assessment questionnaire

To my knowledge, the second question about planning on applying for a VAC pension.  I believe it is if you have intentions of it, it will help your MO get the paperwork in order because when you apply, they pull the required info from your medical file.  The first question about getting a...

    Full Fighting Order?

It is everything that you would wear going into battle.  It would be your helment, your BEW, your tacvest, rifle, gas mask.  Some people can argue that it also includes your frag vest and gloves.  Make sure that you search for things on here, I did a quick search using 'full fighting order' and...

Allowances - Post Living Differential (PLD) [MERGED]

Halifax Tar, I think that your numbers on the PLD and SDA that you have written in your post are wrong.  New sailors that come in get 297 a month for SDA and PLD is 631 a month.  I have not seen any emails or messages saying the rate is going down and one of my MCpl's has a close friend who is...

The Going To Esquimalt Thread- PAT, PMQ, Etc.- Merged

You could honestly stay in them as long as you wanted, I lived in them for almost two years until I came back from overseas last spring.  However, if you are living in quarters (barracks) you aren't entitled to PLD, which is $674 a month, and the new rate of a single room in the block is just...

    US Combat Badge

It has nothing to do with the CF not being able to afford OD fabric, it is an IR material.  And who cares if there is a white x through it, no one over there worries about something as small and trivial as that.  As long as your country flag is proudly on your army, it makes no difference in the...

Medical Technician - Unskilled, Semi-skilled, Skilled Application

To answer your question in a little more detail.  QL3 is broken down into three phases.  The first is your clinical skills, patient histories, in patient care, learning basic medications, IV's, injectables, wound care and dressing changes and of course A&P.  Your second phase is your PCP at...

New DRDC Military Chronology of CF in Afghanistan

I agree, this paper is junk.  I was the medic that went on Op Moshtarak and the dates are wrong and they only give mention to the chopper pilots that flew ISAF troops in.  No credit given to the 33 Canadian troops on the ground mentoring the ANA

    UAB kit list

Also another thing you may not worry about bringing with you is all the over the counter medications.  Unless it is something like liquid Advil or the rapid release Tylenol extra strength.  You can get all those OTC's, including the cortisole for heat rashes at the pharmacy at Role 1.  Just like...

    CAPTAIN FRANK PAUL, CD

R.I.P Capt Paul  :salute:  :cdn: Capt Paul was the adjt on my tour (Roto 8) and I have to say this, I never knew him as the School Chief or the Branch Chief, but as the adjt, he was honestly an amazing man.  Everyone in R1 looked up to him, he was always approachable and if you could never find...
