    Aircrew Selection/ACS (Merged)

I don't remember dealing with numbers that are not generally round. Not exactly sure how the tests corrects it, but I would not waste too much time trying to get accurate answers to the 4th decimal point. You will have too much to do that getting your mind lost in one question will sink you...

VAC Return to Lifetime Pensions Discussion

Generally the net present value of a perpetuity is 18,000 for every $100 of monthly income. That's  how most pension's are estimated.

    A numbers game

If we had a healthy rate of recruits coming in, then fire away, but given the numbers we have, we really do need to focus on making the most of what we get. Unless they can figure out a way to solve the recruiting crisis, trying to "weed" out anyone you think is junk is going to cause alot more...

Civilian store selling canadian millitary clothing

Laundry is the easiest part of your day man, I wouldn't go wasting clock cycles on this. Go put stuff in the washer, clean your room, throw it in a dryer, get your kit ready for the next day, then text message facetagram or whatever it is you kids do these days

Army Communication & Information Systems Specialists (Sig Op, Lineman and LCIS Amalgamation)

This tells me you have no idea what ISTs/CSTs do. In what unit are linemen developing network plans and programming routing configs? In what unit are linemen setting up and configuring TSS or Smart-T systems? In what unit are linemen managing encryption, DGSS or OBD servers?

Divining the right role, capabilities, structure, and Regimental System for Canada's Army Reserves

Excellent. Now if they can just mandate the filling our other failed recruitment quotas we'll have a much better military. Short of gangpressing people in, what exactly does "mandating" recruitment accomplish?

Don't bother with the flight sim, there's very little it will help with and it's more likely to give you bad habits. Try something else like driving and having a friend ask you math questions, time distance questions, give you delayed directions (take the 4th left, at 5:37 take the first right)...

CoC seeking to meet with medical professionals

Confirm with your health care provider to only release info as you authorize it point by point and any meeting is not a open forum for them to answer any question the CoC has. A lot of time people get too nosey into things that aren't really their business. The CoC is entitled to know your...

University Training Plan NCM (UTPNCM) 2005 - 2018 [Merged]

Check the CANFORGEN which are released around August that indicate which trades are open and the deadlines for the competitions. Then compare that to the SIP which are on the in-service selection website, found on CMP/DGMC websites.

Medical entry standard is the same across the board. This is a question only a flight surgeon can answer.

Auditor General Suggests RMC Not Working

People on here say a lot of things. Personally I think there's a group of dinosaurs that are disappointed they can't (mis)-treat their people in the same manner they were. I don't think it's a problem with the "new generation" but with those dinosaurs who really have no idea how to motivate and...

Canadian Forces Aptitude Test (CFAT) [MERGED]

High school students tend to do well on the test because it relies on simple math without a calculator. Engineers can tell you the exact derivative of a pencil but ask them to add two numbers together without a calculator and they'll start to panic.

This. When you go to Toronto for the medical after passing the test you can all have a fancy dinner together to celebrate. Prior to that, be aware that 80% of people probably just were dealt their first major "No" of their life at that point.

Vision Questions Megathread, Categories, Problems etc.

There's lots of trades with lower vision requirements. Like said before, as long as your eye issues aren't degenerative then you do the test and see how you score, but again, a lot of trades I've seen people that look more like Bubbles from Trailer Park Boys and they seem to do fine.

Auditor General Suggests RMC Not Working

Personally I have a belief that most of the issues stemming from "the new generation" is older folks with preconceived notions of how bad the new generation is. In my previous army NCO life, I had a troop of almost 50. Except for a few I could count on one hand, they were exceptionally hard...

    Aircrew Selection/ACS (Merged)

This is probably THE key piece of info I'd pass on to anyone looking to do the ACS. Each part takes probably 15 minutes and gets more and more challenging until it ends. Essentially everyone will get overwhelmed and fail as the section approaches the end. If you feel like you are sinking towards...

Auditor General Suggests RMC Not Working

Most of the recent RMC grads I've talked to feel more bitter and cynical about their time at RMC than invested in the CAF. It's not a good vibe coming out of that school, your personal attachment aside.

    Aircrew Selection/ACS (Merged)

Confidence is good. Just remember that the ACS will always overwhelm you. Expect most of the sections you will eventually fail as they get more difficult over time and time is at a premium. The key part is how long you succeed until you failed and how well you are able to be ready for the start...

CEOTP (Continuing Ed Officer Trg Plan) 2003-2018 [Merged]

Seneca still have to do at least phase 2, 3 and 4 though (I think they skip phase 1?), so you can add at least 3 additional years to the time you spend at Seneca.
