The VOR competition is open to civilians (I got mine this year). As far as your situation, I have heard a lot of people say thats what they WANT to do, but haven't seen any actually get it done. But as mentionned in this thread, it happens.
I also study electrical engineering and have been ROTP for two years. Most your questions have been answered but basically between september and may, you don't exist for the army (but you still get paid). As a matter of fact when I reported in for BOTP this summer I still didn't exist for them...
Could anyone give me the same type of info, concerning sig officers (regular force)? I heard about different "routes" for sig officers. Some get sent off to Ottawa and do paperwork for the rest of their careers, while others get attached to field units for a while and get a chance to be deployed...
KABUL, Afghanistan — An Afghan man who allegedly converted from Islam to Christianity is being prosecuted in a Kabul court and could be sentenced to death, a judge said Sunday.
The defendant, Abdul Rahman, was arrested last month after his family went to the police and accused him of becoming...
I agree that it is essentially a good recruiting tool.. but as for the failure rate, shouldn't it be about 90%, even for people who have military experience? and do all those kids who fail end up really dissapointed to be stuck in the military anyway? you'd think somewhere if they applied they...
Being able to fully concentrate on my studies and not have to worry about a job is great, but not only am I bored out of my mind sometimes, I also fear I'm falling behind relative to my RMC collegues. I wonder, can someone confirm that ROTP ocdts at civ universities can serve in reserve units...
well I guess its more to get people's attention.. I think its a GREAT recruiting pitch, basically. The 2 year rule would almost be respected.. it takes what 1-1.5 years to get all your occupation training in ?
Might be a little early to talk about this, but anyway, I think this is something the forces could have implemented years ago for JTF-2 or the CAR. Do you think it would be wise to have a recruiting program that would guarantee selected applicants a shot at trying out for certain elements of...
huh. I think its pretty obvious he knows the canadian army is smaller and less advanced than the american military.. I can't imagine any other reason than that for you to make that comment, but I think its fair to say he has other reasons for wanting to come home.
I simply don't understand why you people are getting pissed off about it.. sure it might be because they don't really have a choice, but it is just an effort to be more inclusive. Rest assured.. no one is going to steal christmas, it'll still be there for when you want to enjoy it with people...
