I just used this example because I believe the Brits have done something similar with their T.A units. They have gassed regiments regular and T.A that are older than Canada. So how is it that some of these regimental senates hold such sway over DND and their ability to restructure the reserves...
So let me see if I've got this correct? What is being is suggested is taking all of the reserve infantry regiment in an area like 31 Brigade for example and reorganizing them under 1 unit badge? Let's say in this case all of the regiments become outlying companies of 4 RCR with one battalion...
IMO it's because we're not a wartime military anymore. We went over 40 years between proper conflicts in this country and as result we lost what was important in regard to how a military should be run.
This post is ridiculous! I'd wager everyone on this forum has hairy balls not crystal ones. No one here can tell you what the likely hood of an indefinite deployment is much less a deployment.
Is part of the problem the fact that a new hire with the FD or PD gets to their top pay in approximately 4 years? That equates to a pretty serious pay raise in a relatively short period of time. I know for my wife who is an RN it took her 10 years to reach top pay for her occupation. Would that...
Whoa you better watch what you say about the Griffin on here. You'll get told pretty sharpish to wind it in, that it's a mega piece of kit, and was apparently known by the Taliban as "Allah's Breath", but not because it stinks. Yeah cheers!
I expect others from the SOF community will be joining the fight here too. No doubt they're all chomping at the bit to take a few scalps from these SOB's. I wish them all good hunting, a safe return, and huge thanks for their service!
:salute:
Good for you guys! Why should the U.S qual's ie. Ranger tab and SF badge be the only foreign badges worn? I can guarantee you if I'd done the Royal Marine all arms commando course I'd be wearing my commando dagger on my kit.
So by that rational if a Canadian did the Royal Marines all arms Commando course they would be allowed to wear the Commando dagger patch because there isn't a CF equivalent?
I do find it amusing that foreign parachute wings aren't authorized to be worn on DEU's but a Ranger tab is. Anyone know why that is? Or is it actually not authorized but people do it anyways?
So I went today to get a membership at a local gun club and discovered that as well as the membership fee and mandatory orientation I have to pay to take an ATT course. I asked why I was required to do that since all the rules pertaining to safe transport of a restricted weapon were covered in...
Actually gun deaths in the states have declined over the last 20 years. Read the article that I've attached:

Whatever the case know that you can't go in being too fit. Your fitness level is the only thing that you have control over as well as your attitude. You will see recruits who should've shown up fitter and who wake up everyday stressing about that days PT as well as all the other stresses that...
The Brits did something similar and purchased a designated sharp shooter rifle. The L129A1 produced by Lewis Machine and Tool is 7.62mm and comes with an Acog. Perhaps this is the route the CF is going?

Just out of curiosity what are you implying here Jim? Are you suggesting that had you replied to my comment on behalf of Kevin B. you would have been all over me?
