    Brit drives around the world

Not too sure if this should be in Current Affairs & News or Radio Chatter.  Mods, please feel free to move this if I'm wrong, and you have my apologies in advance. http://www.cbc.ca/cp/Oddities/090903/K090306AU.html Note: Ummm...  Isn't that dangerous to do while driving?  :o

    Loud music in Starbucks...

I was sitting in Starbucks yesterday, enjoying a cup of hot coffee, when I suddenly realized I desperately needed to fart.  The music was really, really loud, so I timed my farts with the beat.  After a couple of songs, I started to feel better.  I finished my coffee and noticed that everybody...

Reserve RMS CLK's in the field

Not that much different from what RegF clerk would do.  It depends a lot on your unit.  Everything from running a deployed OR, to being an extra body for QM, to En Force, to being an extra rifleman. And yes, RMS Clks actually get into the field, but sometimes they have to stay behind and work...

    Going hunting.. cadpat?

Ooops! Correction to my last! Deer are not colour blind.  I found this: "Because deer don't clearly contrast and react to International, Day-Glo(tm) or Safety Orange doesn't mean they're colorblind (sic - sp). It only means they're not able to clearly differeniate these particular frequencies...

    Going hunting.. cadpat?

I doubt it would make much difference since deer are colour blind any way.  I'm not 100% about ducks, but I think they are too. Deer notice scent and sudden movements.  Camouflage is unlikely to help you there.

    Anti-taliban shirts or patches

I don't wear it, but I'm not offended by it either. I think it's a bit classier to not wear the more obnoxious stuff.  Like, the ones that have the arabic word for "infidel" on it, are a bit more subtle. But, I certainly wouldn't wear anything like that in the sandbox.  Just my not-so-humble...

    Saluting

At the risk of being pedantic, you're saluting THE QUEEN who granted the commission.  All salutes are to THE QUEEN, usually through some other medium, be it a commissioned officer, ship, colours or what have you.  Even the officer's return of a salute, is to THE QUEEN whose soldier, sailor...

The Whole New Knife, Liz May, Gear Up, Racism Merged Thread

Okay, maybe I was wrong.  It looks like the terms are just interchangeable:

The Whole New Knife, Liz May, Gear Up, Racism Merged Thread

Actually, there never was a change.  Although now often used interchangeably, they refer to different things.  It's actually all defined in the National Defence Act, if anyone could be bothered to look it up.  IIRC, the term "Canadian Forces" refers to the Regular Force, the Primary Reserve...

    Chaplain ( Merged )

We had a Chaplain at our unit who was loaded on one of these courses.  Really great guy.  When the message came through the OR, I mentioned that I might try to volunteer to be an instructor on the course (I was a brand new MCpl fresh out of JLC in Wainwright). Upon his face came a complete...

    Format of Memos

I'm afraid you haven't quite got the idea there old chap.  All files in the Orderly Room are numbered.  The exact numbering differs from unit to unit.  You should have a copy of your file registration numbers somewhere in the OR already.  Probably where you process incoming mail. File numbers...

    The Poppy Selling Superthread- Merged

And since I am a vet (since they changed the definition - which I don't necessarily agree with, but...) I can say "Vets should know better" too.  Someone has said that vets should have the right to go where ever they please in this country.  Really?  If a vet breaks into your home, is that okay...

    Creepy Old Ad Site

Sorry, I'm a square-head.  Can someone translate the second one? Dumb choices in life - I took German in High School instead of French.  What the frak was I thinking?
