    What to do...what to do...

Well not necessairly...NCOs in the army don't commisions from the Queen.  Only officers.  I believe it's as Gilligan stated you can't be a part of 2 federal agencies at the same time.  I THINK municpal police and reserves is okay...just not federal.

Medical Rejection: How to Appeal? [Merged]

I never really understood what the different V levels were. I am -4.75, -4.00 (almost blind without glasses) and was classified V3 2 yrs ago when I went to CFRC.   @ that time I'd prolly be in the -3.00s somewhere. edit...I think you need v1-v3 for any of the combat arms.

What do you get issued at BMQ?

It's pretty much the same for the entire military...especially on a basic course. I remember on my BMQ, a Sgt. taught us a very important lesson: sgt: Does anyone go to university here? (bloggins raises hand)   alright pte. bloggins...there's a word in my head...it's a very difficult word...

Prepping your Employer for those Summer Sessions

The people at Canadian Forces Liasion Council should be able to help.  They can talk to your employer for you, write letters, try and convince your employer, etc. Their number is 1-800-567-9908.  Their website is http://www.cflc.forces.gc.ca/general/intro_e.asp Good luck.

Tac Vest does not make the grade.

I have that problem too...I just followed what my Sgt. did and tucked the rank in itself so that only the actual rank (chevron in my case) is showing.   Now it'll fit in what lil space I have left in the shoulder strap.  It just looks like a very short slip-on.

    Dog Tags

When you join, just go to the Orderly Room and ask for the sheet for ID Discs. Fill out all the important info (name, s/n, religion, blood type) and in 6-8 wks, they should be in.  Well...not sure about 6-8wks but they'll come in eventually.

    BECOMING A COMBAT ENGINEER

Are you you mean SUMMER weekend BMQ?  Or do you just mean the summer everyday-for-4-wks BMQ? By PAT platoon, I'm assuming he means that every weeknight you come in, you'll be placed w/ others like you (not trained).  I've always assumed PAT pl were reg force in which candidates awaiting crses...

    What to do...what to do...

A small point that I believe was brought up somewhere on the site...I do not THINK it is possible to be a reservist AND RCMP at the same time.  I believe that since both are federal gov't jobs, it would be difficult to call you up as a reservist because of your obligation to the RCMP.  That's...

    Summer Training (Reserves) Pay

Just to clarify, TD pay is 17.30 per day for the first 30 days.   Afterwards, it's reduced to $13 per day.   This is a non-taxable amount. Field Operations Allowance (FOA) is $16.41 per day and is taxable.   This is given when you're in the field...ie. NOT in shacks but using you're half...

    BECOMING A COMBAT ENGINEER

PAT = Persons Awaiting Training It's a reg force thing...when people sign up and there's not enough instructor's to train them, the candidates get placed in PAT platoons and really don't do much from what I've been told.  Wake up, PT, and then the rest of the day can be spent doing nothing or...
