Here’s another example. The Rangers aren’t about to go to Europe to fight the Russians, but if we dump 5 billion into them, that’s defence spending and NATO can take a walk aboot that.
I happen to agree with Carney on this. We are in a different position than Poland or Denmark. Defending Europe is optional for us, while defending Canada by Europe against Russia (or anyone else - glances due south) is a non-starter for them. Of course the CCG can be a defence asset for Canada...
All true. The PM has also made clear he doesn’t give a flying frig what “spreadsheet accountants at NATO” think of how 🇨🇦 calculates 2%. So there’s that.
Let’s be honest, but for the friggery of Donald Trump we wouldn’t even ve trying this. And but for the friggery of NATO, after 75 years...
Anybody know of a good book which details Germanys naval war in the Baltic in the late stages of the war? Interesting post here to pique your interest …
Thank you so much for taking the time to write these updates and to commemorate our fallen. This has heartfelt meaning to many Canadian families. Thank you!
Well prison isn’t supposed to be a piece of cake like this here, but a steady diet of fisheyes and pig excrement soup is likely worse than death by rototiller.

The posting for the train the trainer role should be interesting - Who wants to apply for the Nut Job? Yes there is a physical. Sense of humour required.
There an outfit in BC that can get you any type of vehicle operator license that you want, for a respectable fee and a lifelong tax on your earnings. For any province in Canada, apparently.
Agreed, if they were a competent navy like the USN … oh wait. This will be a smoking accident then.

Needs to be UAV capable at least. The RN in the River Class Batch 2 added a Merlin Capable flight deck as they realized the usefulness. I think with our Northern operations some sort of heated shelter is required to store any naval air equipment and assets. Could really regret not doing that...
There needs to be a complete campfire ban right across the West. These string winds today in the interior-,thank goodness we don’t have a major fire burning yet.
And our RH currently is just 19 even though it has rained today. Everything dry crackles under our boots.
Is there even a request out for these ships designs?
Edit: if the RCN desire for historical class names persists and they call these Flower Class, then what are some particularly nasty flowers found in Canada?
Water Hemlock?
Cannibas
Foxglove
Hogweed?
