    CPGear MoFOCR or TT MAV/MFR?

Hi, Glad the review was helpful; keep in mind though the pouches on mine probably don't provide an ideal layout, but can give you some idea of what you can fit on the MAV.  Afghanistan loadout will probably be much heavier and some of the guys here can probably provide you a list of what you'll...

    CPGear MoFOCR or TT MAV/MFR?

Hi, I have owned both the TT 2 piece MAV with x-harness and MoFOCR in CADPAT TW.  Take this review for what it is, I have not been to Afghanistan so cannot comment on performance over there.  And I don't have really extensive experience with either one them.  But I will offer some points I've...

Name This Photo!!! - The AFV Recognition Thread

Okay, I'm gonna give my first shot at this! It can't be a Sherman.  If it was, the image would have been reversed, the Sherman commanders cupola is always on the other side of the turret. Based on that cupola position, and what's left of it, that leaves the Ram and a couple others... The...

    New Rucks

Hey Danteh, I know the exact route you are talking about, and remember heading over there on my DP1 to throw some grenades ;D Are you wearing armor on the march?  It could be something to do with that, I would keep making adjustments, shifting the weight, and trying different straps, it's...

    Cmbt CADPAT shirts

Agreed.  I could care less about velcro.  The problem is currently the pockets on the issued tunic are not useful with armor, something as simple as moving the pockets could be a very practical update with little cost, we know it works based on the CADPAT AR tunics done this way by tailors...

    Cmbt CADPAT shirts

Yeah, maybe they will have some insight. The trial tunic theory is possible also. But why would any supply tech issue trial tunics to new soldiers coming into clothing stores. -Steve

    Cmbt CADPAT shirts

Sounds like an improvement, kind of like the USMC style tunics.  You should have got some pictures of the front also!  I'll keep my fingers crossed, hopefully these will make it out eventually.  -Steve

Interesting to see the pics of that "new" uniform.  You're saying a bunch of guys have these exact ones (same hook and loop tape locations, ect.) It looks though like anyone with a sewing machine could have moved the pockets and added some milspec hook and loop tape.  The guy could just be...

    My recruitment story and problems

Hi MrCanada, I'm no regular here - but I'll give you some advice.  Get over it. There are lots of really strange looking dudes in the military, and a lot of guys who probably look a lot worse than you with short hair, but they don't care, because there is more to life than hair and looks.  Acne...

Is there any official word on this or information from clothe the soldier?  Just curious if this is something that will happen anytime soon.

    Boots so far...

I've had the same experiences mentioned. SWAT's lasted me a few months, started falling apart, no ankle support.  I've had Rocky Sv2's for a significant while now and no issues, easily worth the extra money.  Fast drying is a big plus with these over the cushy Swat's that seem to soak up so...

    Leatherman MUT

To be honest, I lost the issued one on BMQ over 3 years ago.  No excuse, I know, I went to clothing stores at the time and they said they didn't have more, I will get around to updating that so I have one to hand in eventually. I own a few firearms and do a lot of shooting/outdoors activities...

    Leatherman MUT

Hi, I just got the Leatherman MUT for christmas to replace my long lost issued Gerber. The MUT is just starting to reach local shops here in Ottawa, I picked mine up at LeBaron and believe they still have a promotion price on them. MSRP is around $150Cdn.  I went with the black EOD version...

    Themacell-anti mosquito device.

Hi Bass Ackwards, There are no heat issues, the device gets warm, not hot.  It could not burn/melt anything.  I've left it running in my houch all night, and no bugs were biting my face while I slept. It does have a small but still significant I.R. signature however. -Steve

    Themacell-anti mosquito device.

Correct.  It was the Thermocell compact. On the Canadian Tire website it is Product #59-3816-4  The Thermocell compact fits in a mag pouch no problem, or attaches on a small carabiner to be clipped anywhere. Best of all, it offers the same protection/performance as the bigger unit, and costs...

    Themacell-anti mosquito device.

Hi, I used this device on Op. Cadence and it was pretty popular.  We were in some wooded areas in Borden and the mosquitos were extremely dense.  With the Thermocell hanging onto my tac-vest it cut the onslaught down considerably, my only complaint is that a lot of people were awkwardly...
