Totally agree but the mechanics of that don't seem to make sense. If they have one principal residence and move IPR to the new principal residence....don't see how that can be elected twice.
If they each have a principal residence and each move to a new principal but separately owned...
Based on your earlier comments, I knew you would throw that in. You are entitled to an opinion...but I think the highlighted bit is total BS.
The right to a final move on release to a residence that better fits your post retirement situation is a benefit that I hope is not lost.
I am moving...
Possible changes coming to IPR.
1. If you are within 5 years of your CRA you can elect your IPR and move while serving (No change).
2. If you have over 20 years of service, you can elect IPR two years prior to a selected release date and move while serving (No Change).

Titled "TIP OF THE ICEBERG THE BEGINNING OF THE END FOR BRITAIN"
Sharia, the solution for the UK.....feck me.....
Another option is a snugpack by another name...the Brit Forces Jungle or lightweight sleeping bag.
Comes with a high quality compression sack. Been using one for years...and as its synthetic...its obviously machine washable. Cheap as chips...
Cutting off the end/ends and discarding due to possible moisture penetration....for all types of fuze and cord is something we do to mitigate failure. Safety is also a key aspect. Even then safety fuze can be problematic...but not so much with Canadian/Brits/US/Aus made stuff. i can...
Only safety or time fuze is timed George.....in-service colours, green and once upon a time black.
FIB, FBI or FI (as shown in the pic)...all the same thing...and yes, can produce the MG effect etc in bat sim....but it has always been brownish...
You might not, but you and the "We's" would be wrong. The reaction of FIB, FBI or FI, although rapid is achieved by burning.
On that note.....What would you call deflagration?
An instantaneous reaction....achieved by rapid (instantaneous/sub-sonic) burning...? Hope so!
Low explosives of...
George is correct....
I started out in the days when FIB was still around...similar to safety fuse but burned (not detonated) at a very fast rate....can't remember the rate. It was orange brown in colour.
If I was back in NB...I could tell you as I still have my original course notes and wot...
This bit is incorrect..."20 years will NOT necessarily be a 40% annuity".....
Someone who remains eligible for an immediate annuity (pension) at the 20 year point...will get a min of 40%...and NEVER LESS. If however they accept IPS and then get out before 25 years of service are completed...
Not quite but close enough....I received 560 bucks more using the actual formula:
"2.4 Calculation of CFSP. The amount of CFSP is calculated by the formula:
(MP* ÷ 30) x 7 x Y
where "Y" is the lesser of:
the number of years of eligible services; and
the difference of (30 - YPB**)
*MP is the...
Thanks for the link.....things are looking up..... again....that was my belief....this has closed the loop. Why this aspect could not have been covered on the letter remains beyond me.
That's the point, even if you wait till the end....as written....it's still a "payment in lieu (PiL) of Canadian Forces Severance Pay (CFSP)" .....although if taken at the end of a long service career it remains as it has always been - a retiring allowance / severance pay.....I hope that remains...
Well there it is...even if taken at the end of service...the prior provision that used to apply to retirees no longer applies.....Bollox...
39. In accordance with CRA rules, members can only transfer the eligible part (i.e. $2,000 for each year or part-year of service before 1996 in which the...
Occam, thanks for the reply...not had time to do that...but your comment is exactly as I expected the case to be.
For those with eligible contributions, this could make a huge difference and a potential significant loss for for someone who takes the cash incentive early....in my case the loss...
Up to this point, eligible "Retiring allowance (severance pay)" amounts could be transferred to an RRSP or RPP in excess to normal contribution limits IAW CRA rules....quick summary below:
