Pity that those units existing in the time before the 1936 Militia reforms who did send people to the CEF didn't AT LEAST get the "Great War" battle honour to show they contributed to that.
I remember on the Saguenay back in the late 1980s that the engineer junior ranks were in one big mess of about 40 bunks. I myself was in the aftmost mess by the propellers and that had 24 spaces. Hearing what's going into the new ships, I can say it'll be a luxury.
I've hesitated on making comment on this issue. Personally, I definitely support the idea of being all-inclusive when it comes to position titles and ranks, so the move by the Commander RCN to adjust things around is definitely welcome.

One thing I believe that might eventually come...
Each JTF in CJOC should have at least one regional supply depot operationally assigned to it for just such purposes. Reform 1 CFSD in Toronto for JTF(C) and 5 CFSD in either Moncton or Halifax for JTF(A) with another for JTF(P) in either Vancouver or Esquimalt; I'm sure 7 CFSD in Edmonton could...
So which is the next null-strength squadron to be brought back to duty again? If the new aircraft are to be kept separate from 427 due to the difference of platforms, they need a new squadron.
Oh, wouldn't that be nice. And convert our SSGNs into ABM platforms launching the enhanced Standards instead?
Ah, it's such a great dream, isn't it...?
Maybe instead of making one huge pool of NAVRES personnel to deploy wherever and whenever they're needed, each reserve unit be allocated a counterpart full-time ship as a partner unit for personnel augmentation purposes. Even more so, enhance the links between the regular force ships and their...
To Anyone from the British Columbia Dragoons (or other units) who can answer this question:
I've looked and looked and looked for all information concerning the namesake of the Brig Murphy Armoury in Vernon next to the Army Cadet camp. Try as I might, I can't find a thing. Does anyone know...
When it comes to building special or vital requirements, wouldn't it be just easier for the government to own its own construction slip? Say Port Weller, Port Maitland, Port Colborne or Saint John? Crew it with military and civilian engineers that wouldn't have to worry about losing jobs or...
Just out of general curiosity. I know I've seen information about a Navy facility on the southern shores of the Saint Lawrence River between Montréal and Québec City. It's some sort of testing facility, but no matter where I look, I can't find any information about this location.
Anyone have...
Virtus Nostra Ferrum - That was the old Hamilton Militia District before the modern reserve brigades were stood up in the 1990s (the tiger is the giveaway).
Reading that article just made me shake my head. How STUPID can people be?! You don't go around flagrantly violating rules of THAT nature like that, then expect the rest of the wardroom to go in line!
Idiots...! :brickwall:
