I would make sure that the course would meet the CF requirements first. Best bet is to go to a local high school see if they have adult night classes and sign up for a grade 10 or higher math class?

No level of IT training is going to grant an applicant semi-skilled status by virtue of the IT training alone.
Actually at one time an IT diploma did give an applicant semi-skilled for Sig Op but that, thankfully, was discontinued.
