    time after interview

BMQ is the same for every (NCM) trade, so there's no reason to believe Infantry would have higher drop rate, except by coincidence. That said, some people always drop out of BMQ, it's the nature of the course.

ROTP at Civilian University 2004 - 2018 [Merged]

Got a call today, getting sworn in at CFRC Ottawa on the 16th! Really looking forward to it!

From zero to wannabe hero: What the CF have done for me.

Wow, rereading this, I do have a taste for the dramatic apparently. This update shall be significantly more subdued. So I've been in University for a semester now, studying Conflict Studies and Human Rights. I love it, and have been keeping an average of A. I was getting ready to reapply to...

ROTP at Civilian University 2004 - 2018 [Merged]

Thanks a lot for all the answers, especially yours DAA. I'm due for a meeting with my liaison officer soon, but apparently the Ottawa recruiting center is much slower than the Quebec City one, and I wanted to know. The part about TA's and other paying jobs in particular gave me a few questions...

Intelligence Officer opportunities in the U.S.?

From my (Very limited) knowledge on the matter: 1. There sometimes are joint manoeuvres with the US army, so that's where I would expect you to be liaised if you got a position there, but do keep in mind that the forces will deploy you according to their needs, which may or may not take into...

    Join US Army as foreigner?

The French Foreign Legion also hires. You'll learn French and get your French citizenship if you so wish after your term of service. I'm told it's hard though, and they only take the best.

ROTP at Civilian University 2004 - 2018 [Merged]

Hey there. I'm sorry if this has been asked before, please don't poke me with sharp sticks. I've been accepted for civilian ROTP, meaning that my tuition will be paid at my university. That said, I also have a few scholarships that take money off my tuition (They are marked as such on my...

    Regular Officer Training Plan (ROTP)-RMC 2000 - 2018 [Merged]

Yeah, though as I'm sure you're aware, Pilot is a very competitive trade. Manage your expectations accordingly.

    Regular Officer Training Plan (ROTP)-RMC 2000 - 2018 [Merged]

Even with only those marks, you come up with a 82.4 average, which is decent. If you do well during your first semester at university, you can append your university marks to your file, and they will get taken into consideration in your merit list ranking. Nobody can tell you "what your...

Graduate Studies / Master Degree / PhD [MERGED]

One of my teacher did his MA in War Studies at Kingston, and since I was looking into grad school options in that field, told me that it wasn't what it used to be. What he meant by that, I didn't probe much further to find out, but it's something to be aware of. Of course, he's a research...

ROTP at Civilian University 2004 - 2018 [Merged]

So huh, some of you may remember me from last year, some not, it's not really that important haha. I just had great news, I've been offered a spot as Civilian ROTP at the university of Ottawa based on my application from last year. The spot is for artillery which was my first choice, so I am...

Looking for some fitness advice before applying

Yes that's the thread I was referring to, I was thinking of putting to use his own searching ability :P But yeah,  Paracowboy's thread is great and contains a lot of awesome advice.

Looking for some fitness advice before applying

A big part of any fitness regime is also nutrition. There's a great thread on nutrition in these forums, I suggest you go look for it. Personally, I never bought into the whole protein supplements thing, we already consume way more proteins than is necessary in our normal diet. What we need to...

    Regular Officer Training Plan (ROTP)-RMC 2000 - 2018 [Merged]

I wasn't eligible, mostly because my CEGEP marks from when I first attempted it weren't exactly up to par. But hey, my average is pretty good right now, and I'm aiming for A- across the board in uni, so we'll see. I would have no issue transferring to RMC even after a year of civil university...

    Regular Officer Training Plan (ROTP)-RMC 2000 - 2018 [Merged]

Thanks man, I was told that my file was very competitive this year, but the fact I could only go to civvy-u must have fucked up my chances. I'll volunteer and probably join the fencing team in Ottawa, so that should add a few points to my score :D

    Regular Officer Training Plan (ROTP)-RMC 2000 - 2018 [Merged]

Well apparently I didn't get an offer, as my file manager told me. Sucks, but it's alright, unless I get a last minute offer I will be going to university anyway and applying again next year. Good luck to everyone!

    Question about the medical

There was no urine test in my medical, but I am told that in some case there is. The best solution would be to get the doctor who filled your prescription to write you a confirmation that your medication may cause a false positive on PCP. Besides, you will fill a form for drug use. I'm sure...

    Regular Officer Training Plan (ROTP)-RMC 2000 - 2018 [Merged]

Oh man, I'm sorry to hear that. I dodged almost the same bullet when 2 days before the selection the officer who did my interview called me in a panic and asked me what program I had applied for Civvy-U and that it was the only thing left to merit list me. You really need to watch your file like...

    Regular Officer Training Plan (ROTP)-RMC 2000 - 2018 [Merged]

This last part isn't exactly true, I was merit listed despite not having my civvy U offer at that time, and I wasn't eligible for RMC. They told me it was fine and that as long as I had the letter before my enrolment, I would be alright.
