    ROTP pay after graduation.

Just curious about how the pay scales work for ROTP candidates who graduate from a Civy University... Base pay for a ROTP 2nd Lt. is 3806$ a month. Base pay for a DEO 2nd Lt. is 3255$ a month. Now, are there deductions I can't see for the ROTP Officers.. or do they really get paid a higher...

Extra Kit on BMQ ? Cameras, Cell Phones, Laptops..

How do you guys plan on getting the extra gear once you go to SLT? Doesn't it usually commence right after BOTC?? Or do you live in Ontario somewhere, so going home for a weekend is a possibility. I just have this vision of going straight from BOTC to SLT.. and being forced to ship my laptop...

New High Tech CF Aircrew Selection

I was told by the flight surgeon.. That while I was technically too large to fit in the hawk.. (about 0.2cm (read: 2mm)) too long of a femur.. and 0.8cm (read 8mm!) too long on my tib/fib.. that if/when i completed MooseJaw and the H2 training.. I was at the very top of my class.. the flight...

New High Tech CF Aircrew Selection

I had anthropometric statistics taken from me when I was at the DRDC.. I'm not sure if it was done "digitally" What I do know is that they said the only aircraft I won't possibly fit was the Hawk, but even that was said to be possible down the road if I was eligable. (had a high enough status...

    Germany

Curb weight for the 1st, 2nd and 3rd Generation TransAm was just under 4000#.. Some things are really weight sensitive.. my truck will carry 4-600# easy, bump that up to 800# and it drives like a dog.. I assume aircraft are fiarly particular in how they are loaded and what weight they can carry.

    Pilot Selection

I have heard the "my buddy" thing so many times.. Along with the "just a heads up for you Pilot apps." thing... I think my brain just filters most of it out by now... As for this one... There was a good example I was told when I was at the ASC.. clerical error at the ASC passed the failing...

    Pool of Antonovs for NATO?

Completely ignorant question here... but is there any possibility of designing modular setups.. or slightly modifying equiptment to make them work with existing setups. For example.. does the DART team have some single peice of equiptment that will absolutely not fit in our largest aircraft...

They offered me a conditional employment yesterday, and want to get me sworn in an Leave without pay until...

    Pilot Selection

I found with my app, throwing the ball back in their court as fast as you can really helps. When they tell you to go to the clinic to get blood taken for testing.. I did it the next morning at 6AM.. before I left for school. (here I thought I was being smart and could avoid all the old people...

I would like to see where you believe I "plagerized" the original post from. Being a university history major I take plagerization and making sure I don't do it very seriously. On the internet, not so much. But at the same time I know those were all my own original words, and the ideas have been...

T-72 discussion, split from "Bring back something like the CF-5"

I'm sorry, I was under the impression this was common knowledge... While I know wikipedia isn't the foremost authority on all information, it is fairly proficient at being a good starting place for finding information. Source for auto-loader issues: "Another common, but not universal, issue...

T-72 discussion, split from "Bring back something like the CF-5"

It's a problem with the auto-loader setup... the ammunition is stored in a carrosell spll?? under the turret... and there is a lack of significant armor between the turret and that carrosell Spll???  Unlike the more common setup with blow off pannels on the exterior and heavy magazine doors on...

    Interesting..

Thanks guys... I haven't been losing any sleep over it... because there is really nothing that can be done as far as the medical goes. It's a pass/fail deal... completely arbitrary. But.. that makes me feel much better.

    Interesting..

I'm kind of curious to know how many.. if any current CF pilots were told they had a "slight heart murmur... nothing to be worried about" in their Medical? A couple of us were told.. and while im crossing my fingers for the "nothing to be worried about" I'm having flashbacks to the 2 or 3...

    Interesting..

We were never sat down and told.. "Don't  say anything." But I seem to vaguely remember signing something... but maybe that was for the CFAT. I'm just going to follow the standard set here and only regurgitate what people have already said that seems to be alright. Interestingly enough though...

    Interesting..

It's not so much height as femur length. They sit you in a little seat measurement deal and take a lot of measurements, then run it through some kind of algorithum and spit out a pass fail for every aircraft in the fleet. I'm 6'0. And the other guy who didn't get it was 6'1. If I remember...

    Interesting..

Well I'm home now, blew through the medical and now its just a wait for the official results. 3 of us of 6 were eliminated from FastJet due to not fitting into the Hawk... but then we were told that's not a cut and dry law.. assuming we are top of the class, and really want fastjet, there may...
