Have you experienced the traffic/construction on the QEW and the 401? Like Napoleon/Hitler in Russia their forces will be bogged down in the winter snow before they manage to reach the capital.
More and more we're likely to see drone on drone warfare like what's happening in Ukraine

The RN has two classes of nuclear submarines. The 5 x Astute-class SSN's are their attack subs which they will be replacing with the 12 x new AUKUS-class subs mentioned in the SDR.
They also have their fleet of 4 x Vanguard-class SSBN's which are their nuclear deterrent ballistic missile subs...
First step should be shelters/hangers for all of our aircraft. Nothing should be left parked in the open on the tarmac.
If I'm not mistaken that's part of the F-35 facility upgrades. Same should be done for all our aircraft.
Or maybe defence procurement is tied up in so many issues where there are multiple balls in the air that it's unlikely that any answer given by a minister is sure to be accurate.
What are the defence investment asks from the US in relation to any ongoing tariff negotiations...complicated by...
Hanwha displaying the K9 Thunder and a wheeled K9 variant at CANSEC (and still pushing hard for a Canadian sale).

I'm curious if the autoloading system on the K10 re-supply vehicle could also be mounted on a wheeled...
Rafael is reporting successful employment of a laser defence system to take out an enemy drone in combat conditions.

Israel is deploying these systems as part of their domestic AD network. From the limited video it looks...
I envisioned the CB90's and landing craft as NAVRES taskings, not Ranger taskings. As has been mentioned by others that kind of role is outside their current purview.
Where I see a role for the Rangers is as guides/pilots with extensive knowledge of the local water conditions, tides, shoals...
I believe the F15-EX has two more Air-to-Air hardpoints than the F15E which suggests it could carry up to 56 x APKW rockets. That could be very useful in a NORAD context for countering a cruise missile threat.
I've always thought that IF Canada were to ever entertain the thought of a mixed...
I wasn't suggesting that the LCVP 1604's be deployed on the AOPS. You'd keep them in the Arctic, ideally in addition to CB90's.
The CB90's are great for patrolling the waters and quickly deploying dismounted troops but you also need something that can move around their vehicles, kit and...
One of @Kirkhill favourite weapons being experimented with on an F-15E as an anti-drone platform:

Could be quite useful (and cost efficient) against the kind of drone swarms that Russia has...
You're right that the AOPS landing craft isn't an ideal option for moving troops around the arctic. It's really more of a ship-to-shore connector than a transport.
Perhaps something like Damen's LCVP 1604 landing craft would be better...
No need to reinvent the wheel. AOPS already has a suitable landing craft.

Put one (or more) of these in the larger coastal Arctic communities where there are Ranger Patrol Groups located. Would allow them...
