Thanks DAA, I'll check this out right now. :)
I found this: http://www.cg.cfpsa.ca/cg-pc/Kingston/EN/RecreationandLeisure/MembershipandFees/Documents/Membership%20Categories.pdf
It doesn't mention RMC civilian employee's so I assume it's a no go on the recreational activities. You're welcome...
Hi everyone, I thought I'd give an update about my application....it's too bad I don't have one yet (still studying/waiting, Ottawa. I'm ready when you are). However, I recently became employed with RMC as a civilian and I was told by one of the staff members that I'm entitled to similar...
Probation and Community service?
Is this really a fair punishment? I don't think so.
Although, if I were to pick where he should do his community service it would be to work with disabled veterans. He should learn what sacrifice truly is and that it should not be tarnished by wannabe...
I realize I'm a little late on this thread, but I finished watching Combat School. It was really cool, but I have one question: Whatever happened to CPL Pannozzo? Was he deployed later on or was he kicked out of the military?
Thank you, I will definitely check out these threads.
By the looks of it these are some lengthy threads, it's going to take me a day or two to go through it
Good news, the recruiting center called me today to inform me that they're putting together a CFAT waiver for me. All they need to do now is send it off to Ottawa for approval.
The Lieutenant informed me that it's highly likely that I'll be approved, so it's a good thing I've been studying. She...
I should have elaborated a bit more on this. I met a recruiter awhile back, who is a Captain, and he used to be a Corporal. He said he was only a handful of NCM's who successfully got into RMC through one of the programs that the CF offers for NCM soldiers wanting to be commissioned (I can't...
Yeah, I made a mistake with calling the two ranks "components", I meant to use a different word. My apologies.
I know that the Regular force and the Reserves are two different components.
CWO and Officer Cadet's are two different components, you can't just "rank up". You'd need to be Commissioned.
As for the "PS": You can be a Corporal and apply to RMC, but that's a harder program to get into than ROTP/RETP.
:goodpost:
This is true. My friend is in the reserves in New Brunswick and he's trying to do a Component Transfer. His commanding officer told him that the wait is a minimum of 12 months and he's been waiting for about 6 months now. I'm sure it's different for everybody though. For him, not only is it a...
You should probably do a little more research about the CF and the trades they offer, seeing as you're about to start grade 10. A lot can change in 2-3 years, so maybe you won't want to do it in the future. Have you thought about going to RMC? You can study for a degree and be in the military...
I'd have to agree with Mr. Wallace. Taking a year off of HS is not a good idea. Don't be like me where you end up regretting not enjoying your last year.
