So I will be going ito my 3rd year of University this September. I recently found out that you can join the reserves as an Officer
Even if I don't have my degree right now. So my question is would it be better for me to join the Navy reserves and then switch over to
Reg force when I get my degree? (If I were to join the reserves I would join as MARS officer then transfer to MARS officer in reg force or over to Airforce)Or should I just wait untill I have my degree and go DEO?

I hear the transfer from reserves to reg takes forever sometimes. Would it be easier to go from Navy reserves to Regular airforce?

You're better off just finish your university and going DEO. You can start the application process for DEO in your fourth year. If you aren't planning on being in the reserves long do not waste the time of the unit.

This is true. My friend is in the reserves in New Brunswick and he's trying to do a Component Transfer. His commanding officer told him that the wait is a minimum of 12 months and he's been waiting for about 6 months now. I'm sure it's different for everybody though. For him, not only is it a CT, but he wants a different trade when he gets into the regular force too; so that doesn't help either.

As the CT system currently stands, In my opinion trying to CT as an untrained officer is hopes and dreams I'm afraid. I tried to switch last year to (MARS/Log-O) and I was told CT priority was based on application date, and both trades had a very lengthy list. I was more or less recommended to stay the course. If anyone looks at the SIP, you will see that the outlook is very grim.

Like Kerry said you are wasting their time, and your time because you won't be able to accomplish much in such a short amount of time. You'd be better of spending next summer trying to get a job/intership/experience in your field of study and then applying as DEO in the beginning on fourth year.

It wouldn't hurt to ask the Navy Res Recruiter but I suspect they will say a similar thing.

Cheers

Edit: Forgot to spell check

We have many threads on that question.  But as you are not able to communicate well, here is the answer:

Anywhere from three months to three years.  It will all depend on your particular circumstances.

Please READ the many Topics that cover "Timelines", "How long does it take", "Application Samples", and many others.
