V tech - Armour, occupational transfer

I just checked the montly reassignment list and crewman is open for intake however Vtech is closed for transfer out.  Meaning you will need a waiver before being able to complete a voluntary reasingment or a VOT. Also, here is the link to the montly reasingment list...

Pay: Statements, Backpay, Benefits, Deductions (Taxes, T4), Deployed ect... [MERGED]

Based on what I have seen from my peers who were CFRs, it seems to me that if you are a Sgt/P2 CFR then you go straight to Lt/SLt, anything lower ends up as a 2Lt/ASLt.  I know a number of WOs that went straight to captain also.

Pay: Statements, Backpay, Benefits, Deductions (Taxes, T4), Deployed ect... [MERGED]

As far as reg force pay scales are concerned for the 2Lt rank level the following applies. Pay level C is what DEOs receive. Pay level D is what former NCMs receive Pay level E is what CFR's receive. I beleive A and B is for ROTP and CEOTP though I dont know which is which. The same is also...

    Naval Reserve Commissioning Policy

Having just gone through this process two years ago, here is what I know: (I was never a CIC beforehand and dont know what implications that would have) If you join NAVRES as a DEO candidate, meaning you already have a degree, you are appointed to NCdt.  Upon completion of BMOQ you receive...

Question about releasing from the Navy

Its my understanding that the length of time for a medical release to occur had something to do with giving the member enough heads up time that they could make an easier transition rather then having the plug pulled on them and send them looking for a new job within a few months.  Depending on...

    navy recruiting decrease?

I really don’t think they will be slowing down navy recruitment for a while.  They are succeeding in hitting their targets yes, however, retention is a critical issue right now.  Sailors are burning out pretty hard after about 5 years in.  Being a sea going trade in the navy is a pretty tough go...

How to best take advantage of a bachelors degree...

Take a look at Artillery Officer or MARS officer.  Both trades have some math aspects to them.  On another note, I did some poking around and it does not seem that there are any trades in the CF that require a math degree.  Ultimately, if you chose a career in the CF, in all likelyhood, math...

Russell Williams charged in 2 x murders, confinement, sexual assault.

I really dont think we have to worry about the airborne consequences happening in this case.  We are living in different times now.  As a result of Afghanistan, the Canadian public has become much fonder of its military and, in particular, seems to have adopted the army in a special way. This...

    Open officer trades

I dont think its on  your end.  Ive sent a few PMs to people that normally send me replies and I got nothing back, so im thinking something is up with my inbox now. As for my experience.  I did a CT from reserve MARS officer to reg force Int officer.  It took quite a while because Int was not...

Component Transfer ( CT ) - Reserve to Regular

I know alot of guys who CT'd to the reg force and stayed in the same trade they were in on the reserve side.  Most of them went through pretty quick.  In fact, one of them only had to wait two weeks.  However, now that CTs have skyrocketed, everything has changed.

Didnt realize it was full.  Its fixed now, fire away.

    Open officer trades

This time of year is usually a bad time for CTs.  Alot of the trades are full on the CT side and dont open up again until 1 Apr.  Basically, it just means that your application will be delayed by a few months while they wait for new positions to be allocated.  Aside from it being annoying...

    Aerospace Control Officers-AEC [merged]

Is it possible to obtain some examples over a diverse spectrum.  Ie, what are the shifts like at 51 Sqn, NORAD, Comox ect... I realize you may not have all that information at your fingertips, but any amplification would be greatly appreciated.

    Open officer trades

It depends on wether you are MOC qualified already or not.  If you are MOC qualified then its a program called the OVOP.  The board sits once per year and makes decisions. If you are not MOC qualified then you would be asking for a voluntary reassignment.  In that case, only certain trades are...

09/10 Budget Impact on PRes - Unit stand-downs, Class B Freeze, and so on!

I work with a number of naval reserve officers and they are telling me that the situation is pretty bad for them too.  Alot of NRDs are only authorized one parade night between now and April.  Moreover, alot of the class B funding that they require for training purposes, like courses, OJT ect...

Component Transfer ( CT ) - Reserve to Regular

As I understand it, very few trades are actually full to the point where they dont want anymore pers.  Rather it is the training system that is full.  Case in point.  I am a reg force Int O.  However, I am on OJT, hence ineffective for at least 2 years while I wait for my trade course.  The...

09/10 Budget Impact on PRes - Unit stand-downs, Class B Freeze, and so on!

I disagree with your assessment.  The reserves are indeed being hard done by.  I realize that this is not by some deliberate master design, but they are being hard done by never the less. As we all know, many reservists have served in Afghanistan at this point, and now, they are thanked with...

    Common Army Phase

I think its more likely that the info either hasnt been disseminated properly, or it hasnt gotten buy in from the Int branch yet, as this was the CMS N2 that told us how it would be.  At any rate, CAP at this state in the game for him wont be that bad, hes in the right shape and frame of mind...

    Common Army Phase

He may have requested CAP even if its not a requirement.  Especially given the huge wait before being loaded on a BIOC, why not get some extra training in?  On the other hand, it wouldnt surprise me if this message has not been fully disseminated.  At any rate, he will be better off for the...
