    Logistik points and CT

Anyone know if we will get additional points upon CT to make up for what we should have had, if we were in the reg force prior to allotment date?  Something tells me my 200 pts may not get me very far!

Naval Improved Clothing and Equipment (NICE) Project

I am starting to become a fan of the navy cammo patterns as well.  One thing is for sure, after being in the army 14 years then moving to the navy, I absolutely HATE NCDs...  As others have mentioned they do look extremely sloppy and in my own humble opinion, are worn sloppy by way too many. ...

    LOG Training

It depends on what happens after your BMOQ and naval environmental training.  If you get posted somewhere on OJT waiting for your Log courses then you would be able to move your family there.  But if you go straight to Log training, I would suspect you would move your family afterwards unless...

Component Transfer ( CT ) - Reserve to Regular

You should have a file manager in Ottawa at this point.  If so, contact him or her directly and ask them when you should be loaded.  Dont be afraid to keep contacting them every few weeks either until something happens.  If the courses are backlogged, you can always ask them to start you up on...

Int Op trade tell me more and more reg force please

More simply put, a CV is an academic summary of your scholarship.  It is a resume of your published work and academic jobs.  No other jobs would be listed there.  As mentioned above, they are used by the academic community.  People who require a CV will also attach a resume to their application...

Int Op trade tell me more and more reg force please

I think you are missing the point George is trying to make.  Its not about what you put on your resume when applying to a civilian job that matters.  Put whatever you think helps you get the job... George was complaining that there are some in the Int reserve that join the Int branch because it...

Int Op trade tell me more and more reg force please

Dont ask me, Im trying to get on a BIOC as soon as possible, not the opposite.  I have no idea why some would want to avoid it.  Seems rediculous to me, but, if it lets me do my course sooner, then I will find a way to live with it  ;D

Int Op trade tell me more and more reg force please

Just to clarify, when I said some people were passing up spots for BIOC, this was not a permanent thing, rather just a means of extending their OJT by another 4 months or so.  I wasnt talking about guys trying to shirk the system by any means.

    Officer positions

That is true, but if he applies as an officer and they turn him down, or tell him there are no positions available, he can easily move in to an NCM position at that point assuming he is deemed suitable.

    Officer positions

Your assumption is potentially correct.  Having experience as an NCM can certainly help you be a better leader when you become an officer if you apply that experience correctly. However, you need to understand that reserve units do not get administrative things done quickly or smoothly (that...

    Officer positions

No that is not correct.  There are multiple ways to commission from the ranks. I was a Cpl and commissioned as an officer.  You dont have to become a Sgt first.  The CFR is for Sgts and up, but there is another option for NCMs. Also, in the reserves you do not have to wait for your degree to...

Int Op trade tell me more and more reg force please

Thanks, The PhD is up in the air right now.  Nothing like that would start until september, but it appears as if I would be on a BIOC in Jan 2011.  If thats the case, not nearly enough time to complete a PhD so its not practical to start.  If it appears that the course will be many years out...

Government finds new ways to screw soldiers in the name of saving money: door-to-door move policy

Is HGRS a car moving service?  Some of these ackronyms are still new to me.  If so, I take that message to say that I need to use HGRS to move my car and if they cant then I can find someone else to do it and be reimbursed up to the amount that HGRS would have charged?

Government finds new ways to screw soldiers in the name of saving money: door-to-door move policy

How about someone just coming out of school with no finances so to speak?  No debt, but no cash balance either. On a slightly different note, does anyone happen to know if one is being sent from Ontario to Victoria if sending your car is included in the move package.  I know it has been...

Government finds new ways to screw soldiers in the name of saving money: door-to-door move policy

I should have been more specific.  I was speaking about those who would be affected by this.  Though, it seems that quite a few people would be affected.  I am going to be going through my first move in July so I've been trying to catch up on all of this info.  What I'm reading here worries me. ...

Government finds new ways to screw soldiers in the name of saving money: door-to-door move policy

Is there perhaps some way that we could organize some form of collective greivence?  Judging by the myriad of responces here that are all pointing in the same direction, I think its safe to assume there are tons more out there that feel the same way that dont happen to read these boards. If one...
