UN Report: World's Tensions Caused by ISR-Palestinian Conflict

What economic prosperity? Israel already controlled most of the West Bank through checkpoints, incursions on populated areas, controlled roads and curfews. No country in the world would accept being occupied. Why should Palestine accept that? Israel should withdraw all settlements and troops out...

Mubarak to meet Putin with focus on weapons, nuclear power

Same with the fat cats in New York, Paris, London, Beijing, etc. Russia is far from being the only arms dealer out there. Besides, after what happened to Lebanon this summer, can you really blame Egypt for wanting a stronger military?

“Guide to PFT” or “What I did on my summer vacation”

Yo Bograt, I'm on the January 8 PFT course and was wondering your approach to flying prior to the start of the course. I currently have only 3 hours and was hoping to get at least 12-15 before Portage. Also, given that I have approx. 10 more flying hours left, what do you suggest I focus on...

lesser known exercises with great benefit

Stick with basic compound lifts and you'll get all the core training you need. For example: Squats Deadlifts Power Cleans Bench Press Barbell Rows Standing Barbell Press While isolation movements such as the ones you pointed out have their place in training regiments, I see far too many...

    Decent Pilot OJTs

If I wasn't the only OJT in Kingston, I would have stayed. I think you can relate Cheez ;). It's a great town and I enjoyed my time there.

    Decent Pilot OJTs

Montreal man, Montreal! When I'm not working, I'm either in the gym, playing base soccer, going on Griffon flights (maybe once every 2 weeks), flying on my own (practicing circuits), or surfing army.ca. OJT is a time where you should work on improving yourself in some endeavor. Whether that be...

Running: Training, Problems, Techniques, Questions, etc

You're referring to High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) and it is an excellent way to improve your conditioning and body composition. I've incorporated 400m sprints into my regular training regiment and man, is it brutal! Paracowboy has written some good info related to this. Check...

    Decent Pilot OJTs

Seeing as how the majority of your OJT is spent in an office doing paperwork, you should pick a posting that has something to offer outside of work. Who wants to live in Cold Lake for 6-8 months so you can do a clerk's job and hope to one day get a ride on a hornet? You'll be doing pretty much...

    Getting ready for IAP

I strongly suggest you get a Costco (Club Price) membership. Where else can you buy 4kg of chicken breasts for $28, 12 bananas for $2, 30 eggs for $4? I feel like a kid in a candy store whenever I walk in there  ;D Despite all the distractions, you can still get in great shape during...

Wow! CNN reports that an Iranian warship fired at a Romanian oil rig with absolutely no details as to WHY they fired, what the causes were, etc, and everyone loses their ability to actually think and just reacts. http://edition.cnn.com/2006/WORLD/meast/08/22/iran.romania.ap/ Come on people...

    Airline bombing plot foiled

Here's an article by The Register on the plausibility of combining the necessary elements to produce the TATP that was supposed to be used in the bombings. I am aware that the Register is known for its satirical articles, but as a source of sciencetific/technological information i have always...

My weight / BMI isn't changing?

+1 If you were to measure the BMI of an NFL running back, he would be considered obese by that standard. Get a set of bodyfat calipers if you want to guage your bodyfat percentage. Just like Paracowboy said though, as long as the weights are increasing in the gym, why worry?
