Do we need to shave everyday? That’s what most people want to know.
Why can’t they just say “you don’t need to shave everyday”?
This shave and restart stuff is nonsense.

I’ve heard of people challenging this and winning.
They usually end up with an overnight stay though.
The order is clearly written and rarely followed.
I know there are some discussions on how to make things work, and I’ll be honest, the most recent idea I’ve heard is going to put the final nail in the AESOp coffin. Someone, somewhere thinks all AESOps should be trained on everything. This speaks volumes about how clueless the leadership is...
They are doing pretty good, however I’ve noticed that many lack leadership skills. Quite a few of them have flown through the ranks rather quickly (attrition) and haven’t had enough time/experience to properly develop.
That being said I feel every AES Op should be promoted to Cpl after...
☝️ This.
Everyone keeps looking at how to boost numbers, through recruitment and streamlined training, but few are looking at how to keep experience. We are bleeding dry.
No one really cares if a school can pump out 36 or 40 grads a year, if there’s no personnel to mentor them on Sqn then...
So why not apply for UTPNCM then?
The issues with the sensor operators can be traced back to leadership. A serious of stellar decisions now have the trade on the brink of collapse. Which is sad, as it’s a fucking fantastic job.
This is our issue in the LRP fleet as well.
If we could pull back a few AES Ops from 402 it'd make a world of difference. We should have 5 ASO instructors at 404 (for 4 students), we have 2 instructors and 6 students. Doesn't sound that bad, 2 instructors for 6 kids, but throw in staff...
We’ve been doing this for a while now. I know a few ex-RAF ACSOs who have joined the RCAF after their MPA was turned into razor blades
However, I was told the stream for ex-RAF (or any other nation for that matter) NCMs isn’t as friendly. I guess it’s about to change, however, it’s too late...
This would be pretty fucking easy. It would show up on your cell phone bill, or at least it does on mine.
Weekend leave passes are not required and are no longer processed here at 14 Wing as previously stated. The common sense train is slowly picking up passengers, thank fuck.
Come on, 99% of the weekend phone calls are for bogus events. We all know that if shit starts going down on a Saturday that we can expect to be contacted. However we do have high readiness crews and 12 hour standby folks to deal with these weekend wars, they’ll be contacted first.
I’m a fan of different patches, for years we (LRP Acoustians) wore the “Ping Monkey” patch, no issues. Something that we sarcastically designed for ourselves.
However some ass jockey felt it demeaning (so don’t wear the fucking thing) and eventually we (at least in 14 Wing) were told to take it...
Am I wrong in my assumption that the ACSO will also be trained in sensor operations?
The NCM is only there to take the fall when things go south. :stirpot:
The door gunner on the cyclone will get to see the nice parts of the world, and travel in style!
