    Regular Officer Training Plan (ROTP)-RMC 2000 - 2018 [Merged]

From my personal experience, I applied at 24 with a mediocre high school transcript and having just graduated college with great marks. They asked for both sets, and considered both. In the interview, we discussed the discrepancies (attitude then vs now, motivation, etc) and the recruiter liked...

Also note: the service begins after earning your wings. 4 years university (if not DEO) --> 1-3(or more) years until you earn your wings--> Remaining mandatory service. (7, 9, XX years.)

    Fighter Pilot

To better prepare for the interview, specifically for the pilot occupation (or any that interest you), you should understand what the job and the life could entail. As for the CFAT, search the forums on this website, there are more threads than I can track about that subject.

"So You Want To Be A Pilot" Merged Thread 2002 - 2018

Are there OJE options for pilots at Petawawa? I'd love to get some helo squadron experience this summer before heading to MJ, while attempting to stay within the geographic region of SW Ontario that my wife will be in (getting sent on a restricted posting). Didn't realize how tough picking 3...

    Leap-Frogging?

A bunch of DEO friends just finished BMOQ and went straight to OJT at various squadrons the day after graduating until their respective PFT/BFT courses set to start a few months from now. I know two of them received a PFT-bypass, although one of them is a DEO UWO-CAM student (MIFR, but not...

    ACSO to Pilot Transfer??

The way it's worked in the past is that you would need to upgrade your skills to the next level after an ASC failure. No PPL -> PPL -> CPL -> ATPL.

ROTP at Civilian University 2004 - 2018 [Merged]

Keep in mind things have changed since I applied/joined, but when I applied as a pilot, I also had a 3 year CPA diploma and was applying to a bunch of 2 year degree articulation programs (BSc - Comp Sci & BBA - Tech Mgmt). When my offer came through, it was for 2 years of subsidization. In the...

    Cadpat dress regs?

Bit of a necro post, but could someone help clarify dress of the day and whether its base/unit specific?  I got an email to attend an ROTP briefing at my local ASU (mostly army) saying its dress of the day, with naval combats for navy pers. As an air crew trade would this be CADPAT or flight...

Second Language Training ( SLT )

I joined the CF with the French ability to count to dix. They will provide the French training when/if you need it. In 10 weeks last summer, I learned more than in the 10 years I took it at school.

http://www.rcaf-arc.forces.gc.ca/15w-15e/nr-sp/index-eng.asp?id=12931 Saw this on the RCAF website today, and as a current CAMP student (multi-IFR + degree) being winged after 4 years is pretty appealing. Even with the PFT by-pass, I'll be looking at 2-3 years post-grad until wings. Good luck...

    Regular Officer Training Plan (ROTP)-RMC 2000 - 2018 [Merged]

Right now you're only in check. If you don't re-apply, then you are in checkmate. Recruiting numbers change with each year, next year could be 2 slots or 20, but there's only one way to find out if you'll get one.

"So You Want To Be A Pilot" Merged Thread 2002 - 2018

A degree is required to be an officer in the CF and a pilot is an officer in the CF. Based on your post, did you misunderstand that you are required to earn a degree before becoming a pilot (which you are doing at York) or is the degree you are pursuing not acceptable for the pilot trade? As...

We get $100 a year for Paper, Pens & Supplies (PP&S), which after the initial binder and paper purchase leaves quite the budget for gold & diamond pens. As for textbooks, as long as it says required, you're covered.

;) Congrats to all who've received offers. And for those who haven't, it's only been 3-4 days since it started. There's only so much time in the day to make calls, especially with so many people calling in to find out their own application status! Take the weekend to breathe, relax and do some...

Future of the OPME program/Everything you ever wanted to know about OPME

I was advised a few weeks ago that since I was doing OJE this summer, I might as well take an OPME or two to fill the time. Now after reading these posts don't I feel like a jerk for applying two weeks ago.
