    Transition to Municipal Police Force

This practice isn't even limited to small Detachments. I have colleagues whose homes and families are on Vancouver Island who share an apartment or basement suite here in the LMD with other members on other rotations so they don't have to live here. Can't say I blame them, despite growing up...

    Transition to Municipal Police Force

According to the way business was conducted before I'm releasable and would have to be considered for any lateral or promotion I was interested in. What's happening right now is unless you're taking a Divisional priority post or a promotion they can't block, you aren't leaving.

    Transition to Municipal Police Force

I think one of the biggest liabilities I work with might be a guy you're referring to, cause he came from K and I'm blown away at how useless yet arrogant he is. Can't get a word in edgewise with him, always "yeah I know". No, you don't know. If you did know, you wouldn't have been doing it that...

More than a couple of those around. SPS got a handful of good members like that, the rest are... suspect. At best.

    Transition to Municipal Police Force

Given the way this whole thing has gone down, I fully expect the RCMP to refuse to take a bunch of these people either "back" as remounts, or in the door in the first place as experienced officers. Given my own experience, I hope if SPS is disbanded we are very selective about who we allow to...

High Ranking Police Folk Allegedly Behaving Badly

Yep, next time I don't feel like taking a call for service I'll be sure to call the complainant and tell them their Police matter is going to have to wait until an online course tells me not to be a racist. That'll assuage their concerns, I'm sure.

New Surrey police officer arrested by RCMP, may face breach of trust charge

The watch he was a part of was working today, of which I am a part. It has been a very, very bad day.

    Transition to Municipal Police Force

You would never, ever convince the likes of Vancouver, Delta, Abbotsford, Port Moody, and West Vancouver to give up their "superior" "community oriented" Police forces for a regional. They're all convinced they do it the best, bar none. Their respective Police boards and City Councils are...

Victoria is facing a public-safety crisis

Imagine if we had body cameras and a supportive senior management who would release footage of the treatment officers receive from the public every time this kind of thing happens...

    Transition to Municipal Police Force

BC Government need "additional information" before decision on Surrey police Service I braced myself for a go decision, and a no-go decision. This is somehow worse, as I and my colleagues will just continue to circle the drain, waiting for somebody to make a decision so we can get on with our...

This one was a dandy, happened while I was working. The CAD remarks were hilarious.

"B.C. Mountie's anti-Trudeau website raises concerns about discriminatory views within the RCMP" (split from White nationalism/CF thread)

Yup. I really, really wish Kash Heed would STFU and go away already, his name always pops up in articles about the RCMP in BC like he actually knows a damn thing. He's never been a member of the RCMP and has been out of the Policing game a damn long time. If you've ever read Blamed and Broken...

RCMP New Firearms Required Discussion- Split From New MP Decal Thread

Air Carrier Protection already uses the Glock without issue, as does arguably most Law Enforcement in North America. To me, the answer is simple. But I agree with brihard, I suspect there's some institutional silliness in trying to avoid an almost inevitable lawsuit from whomever loses.

RCMP New Firearms Required Discussion- Split From New MP Decal Thread

Another RFI, this time with the confirmed specifications and testing procedure. And apparently we need to re-invent the wheel, because we've decided to do a 20,000 round testing procedure along with all kinds of other meaningless drivel. Can't just assess for which pistol meets the criteria...
