    Guns, Gangs and Toronto

Well, if handguns are hard to GET, then, following that same line of thinking, they are hard to USE - illegally. http://www.liberal.ca/news_e.aspx?id=1141 Of note: "Toughening penalties by re-introducing legislation to crack down on violent crimes and gang violence, by doubling the mandatory...

    Guns, Gangs and Toronto

I have read many of the threads, I'm simply adding my thoughts pertaining to the latest incident of gun violence in our largest city. At the off chance that instead lives are saved by said parties finding it difficult to aquire handguns - yes;  I will lose no sleep over the inability of...

    Guns, Gangs and Toronto

Is it the same "silent majority" that wanted Canada to go to Iraq? The fact is, a democratically elected, legitimate government made a decision, which is what we put them into power to do....and that should be the end of it. Pertaining to the proposed gun law, I don't see the harm in taking a...

    I hate my vision

Not bullshit, I had heard the same thing, and a recruiter in the ADF confirmed it to me. The corneal flap in LASIK is the issue; there is concern that it weakens the cornea, and that during a physically traumatizing event, could come apart....rendering you blind.  8)

    Guns, Gangs and Toronto

Piper's last post agreed with that of another who complained that the former issue was taking up court space. Who else would I quote to do such a thing? I'm wearing my serious face. You, Piper, said that "the best the gov't will do about the gang problem in Toronto is to 'ban those evil...

    Guns, Gangs and Toronto

http://www.liberal.ca/news_e.aspx?id=1141 ...sounds like a pretty good plan of attack to me, election rhetoric or not. As well, the gay marriage issue is dead - I believe our vaunted Conservative leader is the only one who wishes to see the issue resurrected.

    Iran Super Thread- Merged

Yes, Israeil was involved in wars with multiple Arabic nations - perhaps because all had something to gain? Egypt and Syria (to name but 2) could have been motivated into action to prevent Trans-jordan's King Abdullah from laying claim to the Arab parts of Palestine. I'm curious as to why you...

    Iran Super Thread- Merged

My guess is that there will be a great deal of condemnation, but very little action; "Arab nationalism" has never really resulted in a body capable of unified action. The Palestinian conflict showed that aside from rhetoric, the Arab nations did very little to aid their brethen; on the contrary...

Shooting 7.62 with the Carl G... whats the point?

"Why even bother going to a range with it to shoot that." For starters, it gets you familiar with firing the weapon on a range. Secondly, the real stuff may have been allocated for overseas use; the last time I used the M203 we fired chalk rounds for just that reason. Methinks you doth...

    Liberals want Handgun Ban

Isn't this point of this not to prevent hardened criminals with ties to the black market from getting weapons? Isn't it to prevent young punks who think guns are fashionable to use their legally purchased/registered firearms on the rest of us in moments of bad judgement?

    Flashbang question

4 feet. I had one go off next to me while I was prone, I opened my eyes right after the blast and seem to remember sparks flying over my head... It was pretty cool. :)

    Nov 11 - Parade Requirement

Under "Placing of wreaths and crosses", don't forget to place "Advertise for local business." Standing there, in uniform, watching Earl's Fish and Chips shop get free advertisement under the guise of remembrance....disgusting. Capitalism stoops to a new low!

    VISA help

So, my roommate's girlfriend wants to go to a "beauty school" in Vancouver in January. Being a silly little idiot, she waited until the last day to pay a two hundred dollar deposit. At that point, she practically begged for me to pay her deposit with my VISA, in return for two hundred dollars...

    Kandahar trip kept hush-hush

Personally, I think it comes down to giving Canadians the impression that the defence policies of their government are wrong, irregardless of how inaccurate that may be. No doubt Infanteer could add to this... Back on track, I can't really see the point of bringing Olympians and celebrities...
