Canada should join the (nuclear) big leagues

One of the things that isn’t Presidential authority. There a zero chance of a joint Congress accepting that, as at least the Senate is sober enough to know what that leads to.

    Political impacts of Ukraine war

Tomahawks ;) Seriously nothing is stopping any nation from sending their Tomahawks to Ukraine without American approval, sure America could get mad, but at the end of the day it’s not like the Tomahawk can’t be replicated by MBDA or other European nations. It’s just been convenient to buy...

Canada should join the (nuclear) big leagues

I think you miss the trillions of dollars put into nuclear non proliferation by many countries. Both in forms of Intelligence and Black Side wet work. Israel would make a radioactive cloud of any actual acquisition/storage near them. They will do that regardless of what anyone else...

The RCAF's Next Generation Fighter (CF-188 Replacement)

That isn’t in doubt. What can be legitimately questioned is if there is the requisite knowledge and skill for specific tasks. I can also tell you from experience that gifted machinists and programmers don’t always transfer industries well.

Canada should join the (nuclear) big leagues

I doubt Pakistan wants to suffer a nuclear accident. Because make no mistake there would be actions taken to cause that and derail amy transfers as well to cast shade on the Pak Nuke Program as a whole.

https://www.twz.com/air/impact-of-selling-f-35s-to-saudi-arabia-on-the-region-and-beyond While not specifically a Canadian issue. It is interesting in the larger scheme of what aircraft you get.

Canada moves to 2% GDP end of FY25/26 - PMMC

The problem being if RTX, LocMart and/or other world leading companies wash their hands of Canada, you end up with some rather pathetic choices in some areas. Understandable, frankly Trump was never a real Republican, and I don’t think the MAGA crowd are smart enough to understand just how...

And you can bet that program would get the Gerald Bull treatment much sooner than later…

Canada moves to 2% GDP end of FY25/26 - PMMC

Maybe. There is a long line of customers for their products. I have zero knowledge of their business plans or thoughts on this. I know several other Defense companies who view the CAF as a bad partner due to limited buying and various Canadianization policies. To the point one VP has said...

That is basically a clone of the USA Army Operational/Field and Garrison setup.

    Updated Army Service Dress project

Frankly if they had made the SSF smock service common, the Duck Hunter Nylon POS jacket would never have been needed - and tons of money wouldn't have had to been wasted with a new uniform. It really was the cheap knock off of jump boots and the SSF Smock - and embarrassing at all get out to...

The RCAF's Next Generation Fighter (CF-188 Replacement)

It is bizarre since Trump this week had asked Congress for more sanctions against Russia. Quite frankly it would appear that some in my current administration are on the Russian payroll.

The RCAF's Next Generation Fighter (CF-188 Replacement)

It isn’t access, it’s who is willing to spend, and who has the capabilities. The Israelis have decided to go their own path and fund it (albeit with a lot of FMA from us). When Blocks are done the various projects are prioritized, and if you are a minor player with a unique item, the odds of...

    Replacing the Subs

Intentionally… Garbage in, garbage out. Modeling is a great tool if you know what given parameters are. Unfortunately unless you test systems and components to failure with a decent sample size, you don’t really know what can be done. I say this simply as a submarine isn’t a homogeneous...
