    The Post-pandemic Canadian Armed Forces

We've been "warned" that there is a change of command & appointment parade coming in September or October and that if social distancing rules are still in effect (they will be) that members will be voluntold to particiapte in a socially distanced parade. At the beginning of respiratory illness...

Meet the GM Defense ISV Army Truck

There's always room for one more...just ask the ANP who stood on the rear bumper of the Ford Ranger so he could man the 20mm AA gun...

Feed children instead of training them for war

It appears that the cadet article was pulled sometime yesterday.

Feed children instead of training them for war

This guy couldn't even get the Cadet's history right....started in the 1900s in response to effeminate young boys in the cities...what? And it was used to train boys to be soldiers in anticipation of a war that Canada didn't really anticipate and didn't bother preparing for in any other way...

    The Post-pandemic Canadian Armed Forces

My unit has, for the past several years, been running a "mandatory" pre-PLQ package. Sure, go ahead and do your Mod 1 DL, but before you actually leave for the in-person portion they run you through several weekends and evenings worth of how to teach, leading PT, recce patrols, etc., etc. For...

    New Cadpat

Odd...I've always worn my watch on my right, at least as far as I can remember. I've never had anyone say anything about it.

    New Cadpat

I always wear my watch on the right...maybe it's because I'm predominantly left handed.

    New Cadpat

They're great! I'm sad they took them off Logistik's site. I still have a few new ones hanging around somewhere, but most of mine are probably closer to falling apart.

    New Cadpat

I've always worn one of those grey Logistik unicorp tee-shirts under my DEU button-up shirt (except in walking out dress). Never had anyone complain...mind you, 90% of the time I have my tunic over my shirt.

    Army Reserve Restructuring

Not sure what my regiment is authorized for, but on paper we are in excess of 200 people. Last number I heard was about 220.

    Gathering Reservists in Borden

I don't even think they get the junk food luxury, unless they packed it with them.

If they lack drivers I suppose they could get authorization to run people through as long as they observer proper precautions?

    Gathering Reservists in Borden

39 CBG command said the soldiers would have no interaction with family, friends or even with their colleagues. That said, I have seen photos and video of a PT session with everyone maintaining I would say at least 10 feet of distance between themselves. I'm not sure where the rules around what...

    Gathering Reservists in Borden

Based on a Facebook post from 39 CBG, they are rotating troops into Vernon 30 at a time. The first group quarantines for 14 days - no in-person interactions at all; even meals are delivered. After 14 days, they stay at Vernon as "on-call" and another group of 30 will come in and be quarantined...

    Gathering Reservists in Borden

Here in BC they've sent a number of the class C reservists up to the Vernon Cadet Camp for a mandatory two-week self-quarantine period. It looks like they have all been assigned individual rooms. Not sure what the rules are or how the meals work...I haven't bothered to ask anyone.

Coronavirus Impacts on Recruiting Process etc

Or both. Lots of class C reservists to draw upon once (or if) the pandemic dies down.

    CDN/US Covid-related political discussion

They might has well just have said "from the clutches of the C.H.U.D." It would have been just as realistic.
