    Tacvest Mods

Although I'm not encouraging permanently modifying issued kit, there is at least one soldier who did it. Took a bit of searching. I knew there was a photo posted outthere before. See link for photo. See link for previously discussed post. I think he used a Dropzone Tactical Mag Pouches, removed...

Ya Call THAT a Knife? ;)

Wow, seems a bit on the big side. I guess they can't call this Swiss army knife a "pocket knife". LOL

Arid CADPAT LBV and TacVest in Afghanistan

LOL-Nope, that won't be me. I'm with the CS MP PL (outside the wire)  NOT GS MP PL. No penis envy here. As i said in my previous post, I was just curious. Trying to make some coversation that's all -that's what a forum is all about!  :D

Arid CADPAT LBV and TacVest in Afghanistan

Can someone tell me if they are issuing the CADPAT AR TV to everyone now? I'm on TF 107 (dep Jan/Feb) and was informed we would probably not be issued the AR Vests yet i see a fellow MP wearing one. Can anyone shed some light on this? Do they have enough for most people who leave the wire now...

    Ex Joint Thunder

Hey Joe, FYI- The 235th was from South Dakota and the 220th was from Colorado. Also there was about 30 role players that harassed us, but total there was approx. 100 role players. I'm glad you had a good time down there. I wish I could have gone to more of the training. At least I got out a...

    New Combat shirts?????????????

So then, after all this discussion, how can we change the combat shirt? UCR? Has somehting been done? I too don't like the C1 pockets as they are impraticable and obsolete. My thoughts on the Combat shirt are: As someone mentioned, I agree that they should be replaced with slant pockets like...

New Army Equipement and CTS Update

WOW stop it!!! That makes too much sense! LOL. Begs the question why did CTS not just take the same design as the stealth suit they currently make that has been field tested, proven and used by soldiers on operations and exercises. All CTS would need to do is throw a few more pockets. Velcro tab...

New Army Equipement and CTS Update

CFL-IMHO, you are absolutely right. Some of the equipment the troops need take too long to get to the soldiers on ops. LOL-Good one.

New Army Equipement and CTS Update

Although I'm not in anyway an expert in R&D, bidding and trialing of soldier field gear, it does seem a little lengthy in some of these projects. The only thing I can think of is that they only get "X" amount to spend on certain projects during a certain period of time. Also, I think the bidding...

    CADPAT Rain Gear

According to the Textiles conference that occurred April 19-20, 2006 in Ottawa, the CADPAT Rain Gear is now under the direction of CTS (therefore a CTS item) and has been converged with the Air Force 2-1 rain gear to save costs. The Army is waiting for treasury board approval for 78, 000 sets...

New Army Equipement and CTS Update

Didn't see anyone so far post this info. Thought I would pass on some info regarding new clothing equipment that will be coming down the pipe. The links discuss new clothing and equipment that the army will be getting, including the converged cadpat rain gear, new boots, and duffle bag to name a...

    WANTED: CADPAT Hydration Pack

I would have to agree with MikeL. Camelbak in IMHO is way to go. I have 2, one stealth and the issued CADPAT one. I hope they decide to make the Issued Camelbak standard to all troops. (wishful thinking ;D). It is a great durable piece of kit...

    WANTED - OD Medic Brassard

I don't think this comment belongs here, however since Armymedic commented out in the open i will too. Armymedic -I think you have taken my comments a little too far. They were to make spark a conversation as to "how far do we take this Red Cross copyright". I myself, took the links provided by...

    WANTED - OD Medic Brassard

ParaMedTech-Good info there. "competent military authority" so then this means that some senior medical official can "authorize" the "Red Cross" on any kit without notifying the "Red Cross"? WOW, I read some articles on the Red Cross Website and the UN. Very good info there. Like many things...

    WANTED - OD Medic Brassard

So then all of these military First Aid bags, first aid kits that we see in vehicles in the CF ....then have obviously either been distributed by the Red Cross or have at least received permission to use the "Red Cross" by the Red Cross? I don't see any info on these kits indicating that the Red...

I had this link to this company a long time ago, but lost it when my computer crashed. I found it again, thanks to someone on army.ca that mentionned it in one of their posts. They have some great gear. http://www.tadgear.com/product_type.htm
