Hillier says Forces in 'war for talent' to boost ranks - CP

no you won't be able to please everyone, but the default shouldn't be 'Boo freaking ooh !!' or 'Get out' Well, pray tell what is it? I for one only worry about things I can possibly change and never give up. I definitely don't use 'hope' or 'ignore it and it will go away" as COAs

Hillier says Forces in 'war for talent' to boost ranks - CP

I guess one man's crap is another man's bread and butter, however I do not concede to there is no end in sight. I see crap as, doing things that do not contribute to the mission. Things that extend the work day so even when you get to sleep in your own bed, thats all you do sleep. As for QOL...

Hillier says Forces in 'war for talent' to boost ranks - CP

That is probably the most frustrating, being told there is no end in sight. Some solutions; -Prioritize work and get rid of unneccessary crap. -Shorten courses by "no-training" portions, instead of increasing the training day. -Utilize re-coursing, instead of reteaching evenings and weekends for...

Hillier says Forces in 'war for talent' to boost ranks - CP

Just like we tend to train for previous wars, we continue to recruit for previous generations. If the potential recruits are different, then we have to find a different methods for recruiting. As for their potential for military service, they work out just fine.

    Construction Engineers (Formerly Airfield Engineers)

The Constr Engrs (formerly known as AF Engr) is always looking for more. The change was also driven by the fact they can be involved in Ops across all elements, land, air and sea, not just on an airfield.

    BFT+Air Force deployment policy...I don't get it !!!!

Ah, I just love that line, "get out" instead of actually addressing the observation.

    Construction Engineers (Formerly Airfield Engineers)

Thanks for the references, I didn't have access to it here. My understanding is any units named Airfield under the CFOOs will have to go through an official change.

Divining the right role, capabilities, structure, and Regimental System for Canada's Army Reserves

Its no different then those who say that we have to re-invent the wheel in order to get anywhere. Sorry but we were discussing that 20 years ago, and I'm sure that it was discussed before that. btw, the superbase consolidation of services aren't exactly for effectiveness, its because their...

Divining the right role, capabilities, structure, and Regimental System for Canada's Army Reserves

I've never agreed that amalgamations was the issue even back then. The reserves in the past 20 years have already been a farm team for the regs.

Divining the right role, capabilities, structure, and Regimental System for Canada's Army Reserves

I'm not suggesting it be a hobby service. I'm saying I know lots of reg force members that joined the reserves first to see whether they would like it, instead of commiting to a BE. Although its a good thing that there were weekend warriors during the bleak years, as it appears they are needed now
