Check out http://www.beermenus.com/

They offer a searchable database for NYC bars, pbus and restaurants - so you can learn the beer menu in advance, or plan your visits to try specific beers.

I'm sorry but I had this undeniable urge to reply to this one da...NYC and Americans know beer like I know rocket science.  I'm sorry, but I've tasted a few beers, ales and pilsners from our southern friends and {IMHO} a good Guiness or Killkenney have flavour, efferesence and body.  Outside of Keiths {now Red...yes!} Rickards is nice and a fullbodied ale.
Maybe it's just me who thinks that if you can see your fingers on the other side of the mug, then it's no good.
my $0.02...BYTD

Then this site is the answer to your qeustions.  Heading to NYC and looking for a spot for a pint of Guinness?  Just enter "Guinness" into the search box and you'll get a full listing of every bar that carries it, with their current prices.  Getting ready to head ut with friends?  Call up the name of the bar and look at the beer menu in advance (and then maybe call your friends and arrange to go to another bar instead).

Almost Nobel Prize material...

I seem to remember going to bars with you and finding out the bar is now a parking lot.

Well uhmm....hehe....well I ...

Well I think there must have been an explosion shortly before we got there...Remember all the ruble and dust?

Ya that's it explosion.
