    CF-18's not being replaced???

I've heard they're still in the testing phase right now.  Still trying to work out all the bugs

    Fighting at St-Jean

Can I ask how you keep them more afraid of you?  No offense intended I'm just trying to see how section commanders act and how they lead, I'm working towards command of an infantry platoon myself, hopefully I can measure up to the men/women I am supposed to lead and I'm trying to learn all I can...

    CF-18's not being replaced???

I heard a rumour that said the CF-18 was not going to be replaced at the end of their service life.  The rumour went on to say that Canada had decided not to have fast air anymore, and was going to concentrate on Hercs as most of our airforce. Anyone hear anything about this or is this rumour...

    Fighting at St-Jean

Yeah there is a time and place for everything, and true the combat arms may be one of them, but St-Jean is not one of them, at least in my humble opinion.  I figure guys could wait until you do hand-to-hand training, or those padded sticks, I can't remember the name of them today, more to the...

    Fighting at St-Jean

Nope, I stayed pretty much out of the limelight in school.  If the teacher left the room, I usually went to sleep. As for people needing a good kick/punch in the head, I'm all for that, I only wish we could have done that to one or two guys I was on course with.  Ah well you win some you loose...

    Fighting at St-Jean

This is no longer the "good old days" you know.   Thankfully the CF does not allow that kind of garbage to happen anymore, that and no blanket parties, code reds, shower parties and other crap/hazing. Mod Edit Sorry, turn of phraze, nothing moire all is good. carry on. :salute: Slim STAFF

Policy for standing up stood down regiments.

I know of another good regiment that was cut-off.  The plaque of the Princes Louise Dragoon Guards is up in the Cartier Square Drill Hall in Ottawa.  It's too bad that good units must be cut off, we loose a lot of our heritage that way. :cdn:

    Korean War question

To my knowledge Canada had a squadron of North Stars running cargo.  We also had some fighter pilots flying with the USAF, Sqn. Leader Andy McKenzie who was shot down and released by the Chinese in 1954 (note the date here folks) The RCN had several destroyers serving with the UN fleet, I think...

    Great Canadian Military Leaders

I'll buy some of that.  Well Dallaire and Mackenzie for certain.  Gen. Hilliar is another good one.  He did good work in Afghanistan and working with the Americans. And now the salvos begin.... ;D

    Heavy Infantry & Powered Armour

I've heard the liquid armour is part of the Soldier 2020 Program.  I saw it on a A&E special a few months ago.  The armour is both armour and camoflage, its suposedly a chameleon skin that changes to conform to its environment, and its supposed to be bullet-proof. I don't know if this is still...

    C7 with M-203 grenade launcher

Is it just me, or is the accuracy on the M-203 not so great.  When I was trained on it, I couldn't hit any of the targets I was aiming for, didn't get close. I was wondering if it was me? Or is the launcher not very accurate. Just curious :cdn:

The brown Temperate Combat Boot (AKA: Mk IV Cbt Boot) - No longer CADPAT

Ok, thanks. Next question is, how are they compared to the Mk 3s?  Better, worse or about the same.

Second Language Training ( SLT )

I've heard they're going to keep it combats.  The Sgt. Major had to do a lot of work to get the approval so its probably not going to go away. As for your ankle boots, well I go in CF's once a week, just to keep them in decent shape.  Makes sure I polish them once in a while.

The brown Temperate Combat Boot (AKA: Mk IV Cbt Boot) - No longer CADPAT

I heard that they are in the process of replacing the Mk. 3 Combat boot.  A buddy of mine told me that 2RCR did the trials. Anyone hear anything about this? Or can it be confirmed?

Second Language Training ( SLT )

They expect you to sign the book, but its not really enforced.  If you sign a CF-100 you don't have to at all. As for inspections, there aren't any formal ones.  The Sgt. Major or either the Sgt. or the WO may go up just to make sure you're not living like a pig. Oh yeah and to those of you...

Second Language Training ( SLT )

I think the block leave is only for the people that have been there since Jan, meaning the 2Lt.s who were commissioned in Dec. and those that are going to be commissioned in April.  The rest, those summer only officers, won't be getting the leave, at least that's what I've heard.
