I did my PLQ Mod 6 in Gagetown in 2012. I remember being asked on an inspection if I thought this was an attendance course... as far as standards it seemed to me that it was. There did also seem to be a bit of a two-tier system when it came to assessing a hard army member vs a purple trade...
Yes, it does seem somewhat stripped down, not as in depth (no lesson plans, PP slides, etc.) and a lot of legacy courses were removed from the list. But good enough for my purposes for right now.
I've be trawling former links and searching various different locations, to no avail.
Does anyone know if the Gagetown webtop Documentum sharepoint was just moved to a new location, or ceased to exist entirely?
I found this to be one of the most invaluable resource on the DIN, and now can't...
Quite a few of us in fact. You may want to peruse some of the threads in the C & E forum here, as someone may have asked the same questions before:

Pretty much. Everything I've been able to find has upheld universality of service as a bona fide occupational requirement;

Missed this one. Completely agree. I'm a firm believer in learning the basics before leading into the digital enhancements of capabilities.
But like any tool in the tool box, if it's there, people should know how to use it properly, and why it should be done that way.
Which is why, even though a garmin handheld is more convenient, people need to be familiar with the DAGR GPS's capabilities and how to use them properly.
What training and why? If you're going to make general statements like that, at least expand on it.
Also, you are aware that the topics you're replying to haven't had posts for two and a half years?
In case anyone isn't aware, the Board Rankings and CM briefing .ppt is up on the Career page through EMAA.
Not really any change to the .ppt, except for the promotion forecast numbers.
Yeah. I'm not holding my breath on anything from the Branch/Corps anymore. Last Branch newsletter was Winter 2014, and other than the DSigs letter, I haven't heard or seen anything from the Corps leadership.
I'm a little surprised by your "appalment". And I would hold off on assuming that we fail to grasp the significance.
Soft power, if you want to call it that, has it's place. But it comes from a place of diplomacy, culture and history. Which is valid in certain circumstances, or as a part of an...
.308 Winchester.
Which actually has me thinking about their ammo procurement. Will they source .308 for the Patrols, or will they try to go with NATO 7.62x51?
Having worked closely with him, I have no doubt that he would attend such a meeting well-prepared with research, identification of the problem, and eloquently describing a viable action plan.
I also have no doubt that no matter what he said, short of promising to lobotomize and chemically...
I think I'd have a better chance of having Scarlett Johansson as a personal concubine and having Bill Gates assigning me as the sole benefactor in his will, than SSC and DG(IM) approving any sort of BYOD.
Between the control of devices and services, it'd be a nightmare.
I've always liked Mr. MacKay, but I wonder how much the following played in his decisiong. If I were in his shoes, it would make financial sense.

That's why I said his specific case. We don't know all the particulars. I agree that for the general outline, your advice is good, but the most important bit for him to take away from it is:
I'm going to try to decipher your post here, but it's a bit of a challenge.
1. This may seem like it to you, but this is not urgent. It is not a situation requiring immediate action or attention.
2. From my understanding (I'm not a recruiter), they are not obligated to allow you to rewrite...
