Comments from someone inside the room during Trump's speech today. Based on her comments, Carney was present during the speech.
An interesting read, though it comes from a young American working for CNBC. A similar viewpoint from an European of a similar age/background would have been...
And the hits keep coming.

I seem to remember someone on here talking about how we (the RCN) had to buy vacuum tubes off Czechoslovakia during the height of the Cold War because they were the only ones that produced what we needed. Not really much different. They, 'the sworn enemy' sold a product that we needed, thus we...
What about only doing is in locations where there are land bridges to the US or land border crossings? Windsor, Sarnia, Niagara Falls, Cornwall, etc, etc.
We have to accept the fact that we are not privy to all that is happening behind the scenes, the back stories that are happening. The vast majority of us on here are in the CAF or were in the CAF, I myself have never been, but I think that we all understand that events further up the food chain...
Probably not, but they are more likely to remember talking with their grandparents and possibly their parents about what sacrifice means through the service that they performed in 1939-1945 and in 1950-53. Too many of the younger ones (under 40) didn't have the chance to hear these stories...
I'm going to rely on what the guy with the PhD from Oxford, the former CEO of Bloomberg, the former Gov of the Banks of Canada and the England to define what 'unsustainable' means in the context that he used it in.
Edit for spelling
I think that he's referring to something like the 'Dreadnought' races that were occurring at the turn of the 1900's. The constant race to build more and more warships that led to massive costs and driving up of steel, coal, shipyards and workers. It became unsustainable in the end.
I think that he talked for over an hr. I was watching on CNN and at one point CNN cut the feed and went to some random shot of what I think was the stairs of the US SC with no audio. This lasted about 1 min and then without explanation or warning it went back to Trump still talking.
No - on age limits, based on cognitive ability.
I can be elected at 25yrs old and can serve for 40-50yrs and only be 65-75yrs old.
Here in Ontario at the age of 80 you have to be re-tested every 2yrs for your drivers license to be renewed - why? So that you're not a danger to yourself and...
It's utterly pathetic to listen to.
There is no way that a publicly traded company would ever have him as their CEO, the Board and the shareholders would sack his ass tout suite.
The US has a consistent history of voting into office and keeping in office individuals whose age/ability is well...
Watching Trump live at Davos.
Its utterly pathetic to watch.
He weaves from one tangent to another, back and forth, back and forth. Crazy. He talks about electricity prices in the US and how his policies have lowered them. Do you think anyone at Davos cares?
The majority of what he said, he...
Its way way to early. I think that the Nordic's very well might just be starting to sell off their US treasuries. If they do and it builds, easily 7-12% downside here.
