    Left Over Turkey

Hot Turkey Sandwiches. It's a bit different from a typical turkey and mayonaise sandwich. You take a slice (or 2) of bread, butter it (it doesn't taste very good mayonaised), then put cold turkey on the slices on a plate. You can put the slices of bread on top of each other, but it really...

    Pace Sticks and Drill Canes

Generally, the drill canes and pace sticks would be returned to supply, and then re-issued to the next person to hold the position. The purpose of the "handing over" is purely ceremonial.

Transferring to Army cadets from Sea!

Which is exactly what happened when I transferred to my new corps last year. People will be mad at you (through no fault of your own) no matter what, but eventaully they will get used to it.

Transferring to Army cadets from Sea!

But generally, with the more senior ranks, the skills you have are more transferrable between elements. Such as Leadership, Instructional Abilities, Public Speaking, etc.

    Army Cadet Regulations

I don't think there is much of a problem for cadets (I use that plurally, because my corps is authorised to wear DEU Doublet pattern tunics with our kilts, no matter the rank) to wear their qualification badges on the DEU tunic, as that would only aid in identifying said person as a cadet, and...

    Mascots

The Canadian Scottish have a rather large St Bernard as their mascot, named Wallace (the sixth St Bernard to bear the name) Unfortunately, the dogshave had a history of hip and other joint problems, such as cancer, arthiritis, etc. There is a story about the latest Wallace here...

    Fundraising for Cadet Corps

That's kind of odd, since it should be going to the McDonald's charity, not a youth organisation that is already funded enough (to function)

    Fundraising for Cadet Corps

My corps has an annual potluck dinner right before stand down for christmas. We ask the cadets to bring in some food, and we invite all their parents/family. Also, we have a turkey shoot, with the air rifles. Each ticket you buy gets you a clip of 5 pellets, and you shoot at a target. Each...

    We're human too!

As a cadet (especially in your senior ranks), you will learn patience. Alot of it. The only effective way to deal with bullies is to simply brush it off, and don't give them any reason to razz you. Show pride in your uniform, and what you have accomplished. Being a cadet is one of the greatest...
