Real-world experience having an impact on how much you get paid when you start out... I dunno about that. I have 8 years engineering experience and an extremely high GPA and I am starting out at IPC2 for a 2LT. The clerk at the CFRC told me that IPC2 for DEO people is standard. Who to...
Hey, thanks for the input zapoko!
Why does MARS have such a high failure rate?
Edit: I deleted a paragraph as the topic is already being discussed in another thread.
As long as you back your answer up with plausible reasoning, you shouldn't have to worry about anything. For example, when my interviewing officer asked me what weaknesses I thought I had that I would like to improve upon, I said "none". Beat that!
Actually, the $40K recruitment allowance for the engineering occupations is taxable.
I applied for AERE, CELE, and Sigs O (in that order) and made the last selection board. When I got offers for AERE and Sigs O I asked how many offers were made. 11 offers were given for AERE, and between 14...
Can't figure out why you feel the need to ask, unless you are having some confidence issues, but that doesn't seem too likely. Your post reads almost like a resume!
I'd say you make a good candidate. But if you really want to know, get down to the CFRC and submit your application. ...
Not likely that you'll actually see a Doctor, so don't sweat it.
1. Arrive
2. Fill out a questionnaire (medical history stuff)
3. Pee in a cup
4. Have your weight taken
5. Have your blood pressure taken
6. Do a vision test (for acuity and colour)
7. Do...
I do not believe "1 year" is accurate. Some things expire in 6 months, some things expire in 1 year, some things only expire when the base test changes.
One of the recruiters that frequent this board should answer this. You could also just call the CFRC and ask them and post your findings here.
I recently received a report that contained an "interesting anecdote" about Jean Chretien. I have no idea as to the authenticity of this, but I suspect there is at least some truth. Just wondering if this is a true and well-known incident.
That's only about a third of the story, but it's...
That's news to me. You will sign the offer of enrollment for 9 years not 5, so they expect you to serve 9 years. Of course, you can request to release any time you want but if you release prior to completing your contract why would the RCMP or CSIS want you?
This is extremely poor advice. I don't think anyone here wants to serve with a liar. Nor would they want to serve with someone that can have a wonderful flashback anytime, anywhere. Not only that, but lying during your application process will get you tossed.
There is good reason to not...
The thread about rising from Private to General got me wondering something. pbi mentioned something about potential being linked to the number of years you have left to serve.
Now, considering that when I commence my CF career next month I will only be able to serve 26 years until I reach...
Try a search using BMI or body mass index as keywords.
The CF used to employ the BMI but no longer does. So no worries about your weight as long as you meet the PT requirements.
