RPAS (was JUSTAS): the project to buy armed Medium Altitude Long Endurance (MALE) UAVs

I forgot to mention the Spewer/CHUD folks in Afghanistan. We also have some aircrew working with NATO RPAS on OUTCANs, and some ASCOs who have done exchange postings with the RAAF that did operational tours in a theatre IIRC.

RPAS (was JUSTAS): the project to buy armed Medium Altitude Long Endurance (MALE) UAVs

For clarity, I was thinking SOF Supporter vice assaulters, similar to the $ levels for CAT 1 supporters at this link...

RPAS (was JUSTAS): the project to buy armed Medium Altitude Long Endurance (MALE) UAVs

Not the same level of compensation; I should have worded it differently. I meant “similar as in their ATC isn’t going to deal with targetting / dropping kill stores on other humans. RPAS crews…more than likely. They will likely experience things like Aurora crews did in Libya, Iraq and...

RPAS (was JUSTAS): the project to buy armed Medium Altitude Long Endurance (MALE) UAVs

I’d support an allowance different than AIRCRA, similar to CANSOF supporter levels; AIRCRA is rather peanuts, especially at the start, after taxes. I was getting $327/month AIRCRA for just shy of 120 flying hours on IMPACT R0. It’s not a motivator to anyone who takes 30 seconds to do some...

CMMA - replacing the CP140 Aurora

We can look at pictures of people enjoying turkey in yester-year while we eat our allotted 3ozs of Beyond Meat simulator food?

CMMA - replacing the CP140 Aurora

I’ve posted my “not in any way from official sources” expectation on official Govt news on this; I am betting the answers will be known shortly after we eat turkey in Oct.

CMMA - replacing the CP140 Aurora

Don’t even think as far ahead as 2030. Think “tomorrow”.

RPAS (was JUSTAS): the project to buy armed Medium Altitude Long Endurance (MALE) UAVs

This is something in this file they need to address; COL aspects affect the willingness IMO. I opted out quickly as the details firmed up on GCS location.

RPAS (was JUSTAS): the project to buy armed Medium Altitude Long Endurance (MALE) UAVs

RCAF pilot might not be the best example; AIRCRA was incorporated into salary for them and SAR Tech. The rest of us got the “maybe next time, but you’re not part of the next time review” deal.

CMMA - replacing the CP140 Aurora

Yup. IMO, CR2.1 was done ass backwards. Not sure if it was popular with the crews but…the MHWS IMS was a clusterfuck pre-CR2.1. The TWC change was poorly thought out and implemented IMO. MHWS IMS was completely void of LL from the LRP Block 3 LL and development. The brick wall between the 2...

RPAS (was JUSTAS): the project to buy armed Medium Altitude Long Endurance (MALE) UAVs

I was significantly underwhelmed with the projected IOC and FOC capabilities as briefed by a Proj O on the RPAS file. I haven’t heard of many operators wanting to move to the NCR and lose their AIRCRA either.

CMMA - replacing the CP140 Aurora

“Current fleet of 15 P-3 Orions” That isn’t the number of aircraft we have and Canada never had a single P-3 Orion. Ever. The rest of the Bombardier stuff is likely less accurate. We need the replacement before 2031. We needed the replacement before we started wasting money on Block 4. GD...

Allowances - Post Living Differential (PLD) [MERGED]

This seems like a corrective action to standardize the administration; that a BZ then IMO.

Allowances - Post Living Differential (PLD) [MERGED]

IMO, because the MELs are issued by a health clinician, not the mbr. That’s not how the CBIs says the allowance is to be administered, and therein lies the problem with “unit review boards”.

Allowances - Post Living Differential (PLD) [MERGED]

If that example fits the CBI, then the action should be as per the CBI. No one except the mbr and clinician knows to should know what condition(s) warrant MELs. Does it seem fishy? Who cares? COs can discuss with the B Surg etc but I don’t see where they have authority to disallow the...
