    Iran Super Thread- Merged

Well the USN has not seen to attack a noncombatant civilian vessel in the area yet. So no.

Say what? No munitions in any magazine? That seems to be carelessly reckless to bordering criminal negligence.

    Iran Super Thread- Merged

I’m not sure how old you are, but those of us who served in from the 80’s to 2000’s will remember the rather Byzantine JAG interpretation of Self Defense ruling for FYR operations. Enemy Combatants who dispersed firing positions were deemed to no longer be a threat unless they had resumed...

I suspect you have not seen any of the recent Mk48 guidance systems. You may want to do some googling on OS LocMart releases.

    Iran Super Thread- Merged

Keep in mind after Sept 11 2001, the USG was freaked out about authoritarian regimes having access to WMD’s after what AlQ did with domestic aircraft. Three countries at that time were in the spot light. Iran, North Korea and Iraq. Iraq was determined to be the ‘easiest/safest option’ in the...

Military yes, but that doesn’t apply to geopolitical. That is the realm of Foggy Bottom (Department of State). I have much less faith in that, based on a lot of personal experience, and public examples for decades. The Military side is a part of the equation, but the majority of issues that I...

    Iran Super Thread- Merged

No one in the Gulf is shedding a tear for Iran. Most just don’t want to pay the butchers bill. I’m actually surprised to hear Jordan hasn’t joined the air war as they have some scores to settle in Iran.

The RCAF's Next Generation Fighter (CF-188 Replacement)

We are reducing airframes. So yes some of the Air Guard fighter squadrons are being re-rolled. This has been a known thing for a while. Some in the Guard just refuse to accept it. As far as personnel cost go, ready aircraft crews are a wash for Air Guard or USAF Active duty as the crews...

The Great Gun Control Debate- 2.0

My kids have Glock19’s and AR-15’s. BUT they are locked up in a (rather large) safe, with no access to them without my wife or I being there. I don’t understand how any parent can give minor children access to firearms, because even the best intentioned children are still children and can...

The RCAF's Next Generation Fighter (CF-188 Replacement)

Secondary source in NA is a strategic assets for South Korea as well. It keeps it clear of any potential threats from North Korea. If they did build a plant, the offsets for domestic manufacturing would give the K2 a massive leg up as a preexisting Canadian manufacturing site and limit...

The RCAF's Next Generation Fighter (CF-188 Replacement)

10-15 yrs is a stretch for a domestic (even under licensed) fighter, let alone a Gen6. HIMARS is still the gold standard, with orders stretching into the middle of the next decade . Creating a second site for production in Canada offers a lot more marketability, as well as a national...

The RCAF's Next Generation Fighter (CF-188 Replacement)

The only other reasonable option for a dual fleet is the F-15EX which is also made here. IMHO Canada should be trying to figure out what LocMart can offer for production in Canada for secondary production of items. I’d suggest HIMARS, and a variety of rockets and missiles.
