I suggest you tell them ASAP so someone else can fill your spot on the summer course because if they don't (& you waited until last minute to tell them) the unit you've joined gets "fined" & looses that money because the spot wasn't filled. If that happens cause u waited to tell them, they...
Some things on BMQ can be fun. Just don't let the crappy stuff get to ya, remember the instructors are supposed to be hard on people. The biggest fun thing is getting thru s**t together with your fellow section members. It won't be as bad as it seems!! Enjoy :cdn:
I had a full time job, went to school part-time & did the reserve thing. Now i have a part-time job, am teaching BMQ that's finishing & even did my DP2A & still in school part-time. It's very doable, but 2332piper is correct that just keeping ear open for small taskings & the like can be enough.

I think the key word was how old when joining....but i remember that it used to be like 52 but that may have changed. If you look on the recruiting website it'll tell you the age range.
Another good idea is to do weight training, as muscle constantly burns calories & should help you out there. If you can afford it, see a personal trainer for tips too. Or maybe you have a friend somewhere in the biz...
I totally agree with that comment!! Pardon me for saying this, but the regs seem boring without any highland regiments out there (***please don't shoot me***)
