    Oromocto Legion Destroyed by Fire

Wes, The last time I was in that Legion (1986) it was full of Black Watch items from the days when 1st & 2nd BW were stationed there.  I'm sure that a lot of RCR items would have been added over time as well. Bill Edit for cr*p spelling!

Spr Earl's Father in the French Legion.

    N.  I remember your Dad very well, he was quite the "character".  My favourite story about your Dad has to do with the day Mark and I arrived at your place after school, and your Dad took me over to the large glass aquarium....and you know what he pulled out....and stuck it in my face.  Never...

    RCR Para Wings

I have 2 pairs of the jump wings in the first picture.  The emblem in the middle does in fact look more like a "Red Star" that a maple leaf, but they were issued to me in 1981 at CFB Ottawa South by Base Supply.  They were the issued pattern of the day to be worn centred ON the shirt pocket if...

    R.I.P. George MacDonald Fraser, 1925-2008

I loved his "McAuslan" series, I read them over and over until they fell apart.  GMF will be missed, and we add him to the roll of the WW2 Veterans we are losing daily. RIP Sir, you've earned it.

    CFB Ottawa South 1981 - 1986

Looking to re-establish contact with Bob DeGroot and Darlene Powers, both were supply techs at CFB Ottawa south from 1981 - 1986.  Bob was an ex-MP who remustered to supply.  Any information appreciated.

    Royal 22e Régiment.

There never has been a "Royal 22nd Regiment" in the British Service.  There was a "22nd Regiment" which became the Cheshire Regiment in 1881, and on August 24th of this year it became the 1st Bn. The Mercian Regiment (Cheshire). The Cheshires, for all their great and loyal history, were never a...

Afghan teenager hanged by talibans for having US dollars

Words just fail me after reading that article.  This is the stuff that "Taliban Jack", and our other weak kneed politicians need to read.   In fact Jack will be reading it because I'm going to send it to him.  edit: spelling

Field gun outside of North Vancouver City Hall circa 1930?

Colin, the AA Gun that used to be outside of the 103 Air Cadet Squadron building in North Van, was originally from a RCL Branch in Richmond.  The gun was donated to the Squadron by the RCL Branch as their building, where the gun was originally located, was slated for demolition due to road or...

    Mystery Cap Badge

It looks like the basic CF "Cornflake" cap badge that has been modified.  Perhaps by a movie studio or for a TV show ?  Looks like no CF cap badge I have ever seen.
