09/10 Budget Impact on PRes - Unit stand-downs, Class B Freeze, and so on!

Ugh, the reserves stand down upsets me so much especially since I just got into the reserves. I'd transfer to the Regulars but I don't want to be a jack *** to the unit that allowed me in and it would probably be an administrative nightmare.

    Insurgents Hack U.S. Drones

Maybe it's just the lack of thinking by the intelligence community towards the other side. Who would have thought insurgents would be intercepting predator drone feeds. Most people (civilian) would agree on the stereotype that insurgents are idiots who live in caves. This is an attempt by the...

09/10 Budget Impact on PRes - Unit stand-downs, Class B Freeze, and so on!

No, he was correct. I called the unit and there next training BMQ that they would be able to accept applications is September 2010 and there are "A TON" of people ahead of me in the process for that unit so I am just going for the next best thing which, I actually am pretty interested in now...

09/10 Budget Impact on PRes - Unit stand-downs, Class B Freeze, and so on!

Yea, the reserves are packed full I was told by the guy in charge of the files for reserves at CFRC that the infantry units in Hamilton, Ontario are full for the next one to two years.

Swiss voters favour Islamic Minaret ban for local buildings

George I think you missed out on the point of my post. I was showing a Swiss Architecture example to show that they are not far apart in architectural design which, is one of the new excuses that is popping up. I did not say that the Swiss building was a minaret.

Swiss voters favour Islamic Minaret ban for local buildings

By the way I searched Swiss Architecture and for a moment I thought a minaret was in the google search but apparently buildings that look like minarets "ARE" Swiss design in looks. http://thedailyexplorer.files.wordpress.com/2009/03/9.jpg (Swiss Architecture)...

Swiss voters favour Islamic Minaret ban for local buildings

Jeez, some people here are really clueless about Islam. Minaret a sign of Islamic power? Muslims wanting to rule the world under one religion? Christians and Jewish people are infidels? All these are as plausible as an Islamic person believing that the Jew Bear from the movie "Inglorious...

    Reserve Question (Co-op/Weekend Courses)

I was a weekly caller and thought I had done very well to keep things moving but I missed getting in by a week literally. The units I was applying to are full for the next two years as well because of budget cuts but I talked to a recruiter today and it looks like I can get another job just as a...

    Reserve Question (Co-op/Weekend Courses)

Well the question was can you do co-op when your already finished high school? I have searched about co op on the site for a better part of an hour and didn't find anything. Due to somehow my file ending up "lost" between the 100m between CFRC and the reserve unit I have missed the opening for...

    Need advice for this confusion

Right not only the regular forces has guaranteed closure of all trades until April 2010. Reserve unit openings are on a unit to unit basis and a liaison officer will go to your unit to check on job openings for that unit much much later in your application process (probably after the merit list...

US Army Strykers at Kandahar criticized

Source: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J0Tr1Epiga0 Background: Officer's Abram hit by a mine designed to take out mobility of tanks (ie. detrack). Tank hit by mine designed for mobility kills (hmm a mine that takes out mobility of tanks. What is that? An anti-mobility mine? Holy crap!)...

US Army Strykers at Kandahar criticized

I haven't been to Afghanistan but I would imagine terrorists get their supplies by arms trading and then shipping through the Pakistani border. That, or they are still sitting on the massive pile of weapons and ammo the Soviets left behind after the Afghan-Soviet war. We all know that the IED's...

    Waiting for Ottawa

My medical being sent to Ottawa and coming back took about 4 weeks total for evaluation and transit. Mind you, I am applying for Pres so I could imagine maybe Regulars *should* go faster since everywhere else in the system Regulars go before reserves for appointments and processing. But, I...

US Army Strykers at Kandahar criticized

Indeed, I have seen a video before on the liveleak where an Abrams was flipped completely over. There's such thing as mine resistant but I doubt there is such thing as naval shell resistant (referring to the big-mass 155mm IED's).

All things joining the military (but not wanting to deploy) - merged

Usually. No MSN talk please (at least those are the rules), also I fixed your spelling errors.

All things joining the military (but not wanting to deploy) - merged

I was merely commenting on how medics cannot engage in combat unless it's defense of themselves or their patients. If you'd like to mislead people then go right ahead.

That's what I was trying to say originally.
