Yeah... sure.  ::) Now, reread this thread: http://army.ca/forums/threads/36228/post-292333.html#msg292333 Where you will find this: Coming from one of yours, no less... there's more in the thread. Now put aside the ridiculous inter-regt hatred and chest-puffing, it is not serving anyone...

Divining the right role, capabilities, structure, and Regimental System for Canada's Army Reserves

Ah... ok. I found this which clears things up: http://runescape.wikia.com/wiki/Divination And I thought this thread was about defining the role of the Reserves... I feel like an idiot. Now... who's Guthix ??

And the thread title has always baffled me... what is divine about the role of the reserves ??

Stop walking on egg shells  ::), it was a platoon from 2R22R. They did not want to do this, but they were ordered to surrender by the CofC. Are you telling me that another Regiment woukd have disobeyed orders ?

The UN, as the self-licking ice-cream cone that it is, can strongly condemn, reaffirm, urge and request all it wants, it has neither the will nor the means to do anything about this situation. It is, as we speak, holding emergency meetings consisting of endless blah-blah, to be followed by...

Exactly... this refers to William Stevenson's quote in my previous post. SOF will be a tool in the box, useful to target IS leaders and other HVTs; however there will be a need for conventional Troops to conduct cordon & search, clear and block ops, and to destroy trg sites and large IS...

I think the West needs to confront IS directly. We need to find each member of it and kill them, then publish pictures like those above, but of IS bodies. We need to avoid civilian casualties, as the animals do not care about their people's lives but will exploit them to advance their cause and...

    British parachute wings

Some people are a bit uptight about the Mess Kit... with the price I paid for the suit, I wear my Brit wings where I want, which is on the right shoulder. On the right breast, they would interfere with my US wings...

The US Military have the "up or out" to contend with; I am currently working with ex-LCols who were shown the door because they were not going up... they are now working as contractors.

My time as an English soldier in Quebec City

Come to think of it: from the title, you'd think the guy was serving in the British Army. It's like when US personnel tell me "Ah, you're French" ! I tell them I am no more French then they are English. The original poster has a perception problem: we are all Canadians, and he was a Canadian...

Thanks for the link; the church in the last picture in the link, the church of Notre-Dame-de-la-Victoire, is still standing today, in what is called Le Petit Champlain, next to the King's Battery.

Cancel MGS - Buy new Cockeril 105mm design (see link)...

I fully agree, I was not saying you were wrong. The US Military is, in my opinion, using the MGS the wrong way. What I was getting at was that the French would probably make better use of the veh, as they are organised and trained for the small wars that the MGS (and Stryker in general) was...

Cancel MGS - Buy new Cockeril 105mm design (see link)...

There are big differences between the US and French Armies; the US Army is designed mostly for a conventional near-peer fight, while the French Army is designed to tackle both the conventional fight and small wars in post-colonial Africa. Even the US SF and USMC, which used to advertise...

Why Europe Keeps Failing........ merged with "EU Seizes Cypriot Bank Accounts"

Interesting that you include the French in the "Latin" countries. The French language definitely has latin roots, but most of France was settled by Celts, so the French people have more in common, ethnically, with the Germans, British, Irish and others in western Europe.

    Russia's Mistral class LHDs: updates

I visited the Mistral a few days ago, nice ship. It's not as big as some of the other amphibs I have been on, but it would be perfect for us, should we decide to give ourselves such a capacity.
