Sorry for my :highjack: but If there is no civilian jobs that you are passionated about, or no civilian job in which your career is well engaged, why not switching for a full time career in the regular forces, specially if the trade of main interest is only offered by the regular forces...
All of you, older recruits doing BM(O)Q or done with it, are a great inspiration for us, older applicants.
Best Wishes to all of you and have a great Holiday season.
Wow, I have seen chem students doing stupid stuffs, but this one blows my mind!
I've learned something new about citric acid (you find a lot of it in lemon), I have 500 g of it on my lab shelve. Sweet, I am going to save on chewing gums.
Stay fit, keep focus and don't give up. Keep positive and keep your finger cross. Anyway, looking at other options is never a bad idea but I hope you'll get where you would like to go.
The thickness of my cornea is borderline to operate with the LASIK technique using the equipments of the surgeon I went see, another company offer me the LASIK because they have a new LASIK machine that allows to work with thinner cornea. However, I am going to play safe, despite PRK is more...
With my luck, I guess it is too late to be sent in the next boot camp made of similar recruits, I wonder if my cardiovascular system could survive anyway.
In my case, the PRK suggestion was given at a Laser Surgery Clinic by the surgeon himself and the Lasik suggestion was given by an optometrist affiliated to a Laser Eye Surgery Clinic on the claim that they use the state of the art Lasik equipments.
An experienced surgeon but old school that...

From BBC news:
"Bacteria which glow green in the presence of explosives could provide a cheap and safe way to find hidden landmines, Edinburgh scientists claim. The bugs can be mixed into a...
I agree with the positive reinforcement. However, each academic term I teach to students who understand only by the stick methodology (negative reinforcements). Some are quick to realise that I also give carrot (positive reinforcements) when they get things done. Don't tell them, but they also...
Almost one year delay for me too due to my vision (V4). I had to secure enough money for the laser eye surgery but it is done now. I'll meet the surgeon in two weeks for the first assessment, the wait still goes on...but that is OK with me. It gives me more time to get fit and to find a strategy...
