MI:3 and the use of UAV's in the film.

I thought that was like in the video games where once you've fired, another is replaced under the wing. ::) At least when Tommy fired 3/5 of his mag at the UAV it broke up instead of the mandatory explosion. Loved the jump that followed. Hoo Wah!

BMQ filled up for this summer?

Weeks??? :brickwall: Meh... I was going to join the chorus, but I think I'll go back to the couch. ;D

Prior Learning Assessment Review( PLAR ) FAQs

The majority of the information is in house. I have some prior education/training in trades, but I don't think that would be much of an issue. I have a commercial pilot's license, but I'm returning to the army so I doubt that would come into consideration. I'm returning to the infantry as an...

MI:3 and the use of UAV's in the film.

Went to the first of the popcorn flics this past weekend. It was worth the ticket, but I think that says more for the lack of good movies recently than the quality of this one. The best that can be said, it was better than the last effort by Woo. Some things I noticed that won't give anything...

    Al Qaida Training Video

I enjoyed how he spins after firing his sidearm and for a moment is aiming directly at the videographer. That could have been another lesson.

Taliban searching for heavier AT weapons: Coalition sources

Concurrence w/ a_majoor's thinking on this one. They're playing the long game, if they are able to use such a weapons system effectively in the field then they can get a lot of mileage out of the incident for recruitment and morale. A blow against the occupiers for PR and a message that they are...

Prior Learning Assessment Review( PLAR ) FAQs

So, what's the current ETA for a PLAR these days? I'm entering my 2nd month, getting the "next week" from CFRC, so, anyone got a ball park figure to toss around? I'm an old hand with the waiting game, just trying to keep my morale up, see where the responses may fall within my personal betting...

    Re-enrollment to the CF Questions

I suppose that this is as good a place as any to submit this response (I don't know how long it's been since I've posted something) and it may even have some relevance to the topic. The history of my particular plight is well documented in the murky corners of this site, so not much point going...

    Canadians joining the US Military

I found a thread on joining the British/Australian militaries in detail and a poll on joining the USMC specifically that focused on the conjecture around joining per se. I was interested in beginning a thread similar to the aforementioned UK/OZ thread. I was specifically curious as to whether...

    Canadians joining the US Military

Just out of curiosity, if a Canadian wants to join the US military, what is the process to do so?

U.S. fighter pilot Harry Schmidt talks about the friendly fire that ended his...

Rocky, You're focusing on one aspect of this incident and let's face it, it's a weak defense on your part. The responsibility for the deployment of ordnance rests solely with the PIC (Pilot in Command). Period. Schmidt as the pilot did not identify his target. He released his munitions without...

U.S. fighter pilot Harry Schmidt talks about the friendly fire that ended his...

Identify that which you are going to fire upon. It's not a difficult concept, or so you would think. This is only my opinion, and his BS cost dear. I didn't notice him saying anything about responsibility or professionalism. That may be something to take away from his "experience."

CF Transformation & the Operational Commands (Merged)

"Another is looking at how to better recruit, train and deploy people. The Paul Martin government has said it wants to increase the size of the military by 8,000 people during the next five years." So, can we expect efficiency within the recruiting and training process? Or should we continue...

TRAVELLING TO UK (SCOTLAND AND ENGLAND)

King, In Scotland, make your way to the north coast, catch the ferry to the Orkneys and enjoy. My favourite distillery "Highland Park" is up there and many sights to see, but historic Skara Brae aabsolutely impressed me. It literally blew my senses away when you consider this place in context...

    9mm Browning Replacement

Gotta jump in here, I've used BHPs and I like them, but they are past their shelf life in the CF. Sig P225s are in use, so it makes sense to replace the BHP w/ other Sigs. Then again, I'm biased, I like my P228 clone. After having put <2000rds through it; my preference is with a Sig currently...

Very impressed with rifle I fired today. Want army guys opnions...

Played with a Storm in the shop, fun to look at, no interest though overall. H&K has the SMG market locked. 16" M4 is apparently the way to go. (Shorter barrels run into velocity issues for the bullet). SMGs still have a strong role in certain environments. As for pistols, I like my 9mm Sig...

    top tank in WW2

Various television shows have tackled this subject over the years, with various degrees of acceptability. There was one such program recently on the History Channel (or TLC, I'm not certain which). The title escapes me, but it was a comparison show highlighting the most famous of weapons...

    Ship's Boarding Party [Merged]

Sounds good, where do I sign up ;) And she does y'know; she also says something about the sun setting, but I can rarely here her due to that 4-man band she has following me around playing the theme from "Gonna git you Sucka."  >:D
