    Improved Combat Uniform

Are you talking about the CFs or the USMC looking for new body armour?

    Improved Combat Uniform

Arc'teryx was approached by the Clothe The Soldier project on several occasions to do R&D projects for load carriage (and possibly clothing), but DND wanted to own all the intellectual property and designs that Arc'teryx would be developing.  As such, Arc'teryx declined as they didn't want to...

And have 24-36 month lead times with Crye, only to have the uniforms fall apart once they start being used in the field? http://kitup.military.com/2011/08/marsoc-crye-uniforms-not-holding-up.html http://kitup.military.com/2011/09/aussies-facing-same-pant-problems.html

Divining the right role, capabilities, structure, and Regimental System for Canada's Army Reserves

What mechanism are we putting in place to keep RegF Afghan vet members who are releasing involved in the PRes so as to keep their skill sets from atrophying?

Poo Pond black water circling drain for final time

I'd pity the EOD techs that would have the task to deal with the thing if it landed as a dud in there.

Close Combat Vehicle: Canada to buy another AFV (& keeping LAV III & TLAV)

Thanks for the pics, but I don't see any technical data where it states that it shares components with the Leopard 1. Besides that, I believe the spirit of the question discussed was whether there was an IFV, not an APC that's built of a Leopard 2 (or 1) chassis which at this point in time...

The brown Temperate Combat Boot (AKA: Mk IV Cbt Boot) - No longer CADPAT

So far, the only commercially available 'military' boot that somewhat matches the specs (colour and full grain rather than rough-out/suede leather) of the new CF issued 'brown' boot are some models by UK manufacturer Altberg:  http://www.altberg.co.uk/Web/military.jsp

    Improved Combat Uniform

I've seen a few Recce Pl and Sniper types do 'Recce' or 'Sniper' tabs/shoulder scrolls small enough to be worn under the piece of material on the Combat Shirt's left shoulder where you'd attach a brassard/armlet. With respect to morale patches being worn overtly, I'm sure that the Velcro on the...

Was already brought up in respect to the Velcro on the sleeve pockets and the CADPAT fabric panel which will cover them.

Tactical Armoured Patrol Vehicle - RG-31, LAV Coyote, and (partial) G-Wagon Replacement

The TAPV that Textron is selling Canada is a lengthened version of the M1117 Armored Security Vehicle that they (Textron) have supplied over 1800 to the US Army's Military Police.

Tactical Armoured Patrol Vehicle - RG-31, LAV Coyote, and (partial) G-Wagon Replacement

Something just doesn't look right about that vehicle, even as a Styker prototype.  Why the large spacing between the intermediate road wheels? Also, the underside of the hull doesn't look like a typical LAV/Pirahna type APC.

I pray to God you're being sarcastic.

The brown Temperate Combat Boot (AKA: Mk IV Cbt Boot) - No longer CADPAT

The Belleville USN flight boot is CONSIDERABLY a darker shade of brown than the new CF boot in the 'DND Maxi Brown' shade.  If you're looking for aftermarket boots to match the shade of the new CF boots you're probably better of looking at various Coyote Brown/Mojave Olive coloured ones as they...

    Improved Combat Uniform

SoldiersSystems.net just published an article on the 'Improved Combat Uniform' solicitation that's been put on the MERX as a tender. http://soldiersystems.net/2012/06/27/canada-tranistioning-enhanced-combat-uniform/ I believe that the concept is that the Enhanced Combat Uniform is primarily...

    Improved Combat Uniform

These comments remind me of the late 90's when there were virtually nil stock of 'normal' sized combats due to a chronic shortage of the cloth used to manufacture combats resulting from the fabric mill that produced the cloth going out of business.

    Improved Combat Uniform

Regarding the MERX solicitation for the 'Advanced Combat Uniform' for a customer 'within 200km of Petawawa' (i.e. CSOR/DHTC/JTF2), having read the in-depth solicitation (not just the summary on the non-subscriber section of MERX), they're calling for the uniforms to be done in Multicam.  There...

Designing your own equipment do people actually do it?

As was mentioned earlier the 'Roll Your Own' thread on www.lightfighter.net is a good resource for the home sewer.  Another one is www.diytactical.com/forums which is one of the best resources on the web for people designing and building their own tactical gear, both for personal use, or for...
